Not quite superpowers, but in the anime there are costumed heroes like gligar man a batman parody, and mighty accelgor so not fully crazy to say superpowered people and pokemon could form thier own hero or villain team pokemon make evil teams so often

For powers there is implied to he energy of each type, such as ice type energy, which is opposite to energy exists! For psychic I think there was a gal in anime who can see all of your future if they touch you. Imo their power comes from the lake kamis mainly with some expansion like armorouge and kabadra? Since gold is related to psychic in japanse. For pokemom tower might be related to garganacl? Aura is implied to be life force, so being healthy makes you strong basicly. And humans are pokemon! So proply related to that? In my hc dragon powers come from pokemon of myth, and orginal dragon. Palkia, for draco meteor, Roar of time for dialga Giratina for pure destructive force, like dragon pulse ect. Orginal dragon for elements like how they can thunder and stuff. Dark means aku its more so dishonorable like it kicks you on the balls, and bad thoghts, like that nuzzleaf. Rathed than evil Lance can heal mons on the manga. And there was the veilstone myth, ancient hero, ect. I proply miss a bit

In the games at least, N is the only human that has been explicitly shown to have the ability to straight up talk to Pokémon. Unrelated but surprised how nobody talked about this: In BW2's postgame, Zinzolin mentioned a king that united the people together, who was believed to have the power to "see the future" and "talk to all living things". He then goes on to say that if the king has descendants, the "special power" could be passed down. I believe N is the descendant of said king, possibly the king of ancient Unova. There's your Legends Unova hype for today!

Isnt N disney's princess Broly? Long green hair. And people did marry pokemon so he has that ralts dna in him, psychic powers to talk to pokemon and green hair. Lol no, he's a zurua, they know how to cast illusions and explain the long hair. Illusions dont make things dissapear, they just twist the senses a bit to make you see things that arent there and make things that are there unseen.

Actually had a conversation with someone about this before. Like you mentioned, during the earlier generations, there was a lot of lore that wasn't established so anything could happen. That's why real world animals appeared in both the anime and the games. One of Raichu's PokeDex entries in gen I mentioned that it could knock out an elephant with its electric powers. During gen 8, Raichu had a similar dex entry, but the word "elephant" was replaced with "Copperajah". They slowly phased out real world animals and replaced them with a Poekmon version of those animals. Modern Game Freak does not want real world animals to be a thing in the games. The Pokemon world mimics our own in some ways, but it's only a mimicry. Most Pokemon are based on animals, key word being "based", they aren't actually animals themselves. That's why they can have all of these crazy powers, they're fantasy creatures. If the Pokemon world mimics our own world, then just like how humans are animals in the real world, "humans" in the Pokemon world are likely classified as Pokemon and evolved from an ape like Pokemon ancestor. If "humans" are Pokemon, it would make sense that they can use abilities that humans in our world cannot.

I do think that humans also descended from Mew, like all Pokémon. But due to a unique evolution; they essentially became something else entirely. The humans of the Pokémon world retain some of the traits of a Pokémon, however, such as enhanced durability, and the ability to use magic. Ash is the likely the pinnacle of this special subset of humans due to essentially being Aura Jesus.

5:43 To be fair, the player character is a literal child. It makes sense they'd need the help of Pokémon to swim across the ocean, while actual professional adult swimmers can do so without the need of Pokémon. So I wouldn't consider this to be a "superpower" within the world of Pokémon.
@MagillanicaLouM
@MagillanicaLouM 2 месяца назад
That would make sense though the past 4 gens they tend to skew the protagonists as older more often than not in their mid to late teens. And irl by that point in life, a teenager could have prodigal level swimming skills if they're trained at it enough. Add in the fictional world with fancy shmancy powered folk of Pokemon, it wouldn't be a stretch to say a character the age of a pokemon protag could tap into this hypotbetical swimming buff that some water specialists achieve if they were one themselves
@afro025
@afro025 2 месяца назад
@@MagillanicaLouM It still makes sense even in recent generations. Regardless of whether or not the player character is in their mid to late teens, it certainly is a stretch to say that the character we play has has some prodigal swimming talent that is *never* mentioned whatsoever, that makes it possible for them to swim on par with professional and experienced adult swimmers. And either way, this hypothetical scenario would never happen in an actual Pokémon game, since the inability to traverse bodies of water until a certain point is used as a way to block progression for the player until they're ready.
@MagillanicaLouM

@@afro025 i wasn't saying the player characters as they are would have the ability, just that in humoring this theory of water type trainers having some power related affinity for swimming, their ages wouldn't really be an obstacle if they also met the condition of water type focused trainer.

Aura *is* really weird come to think of it. It does all this stuff and there's no actual reasoning behind it. What is it? Does everyone have it and some's Aura signature is stronger than others? I wouldn't care that much if Aura was just a Lucario thing like how Illusion is a Zoroark thing but when humans can tap into that same power it makes me question what this stuff is.

Aura seems to be like chi or life energy, maybe even the same thing as infinity energy.
@JacksonVoet
@JacksonVoet 2 месяца назад
It’s basically just Infinity Energy that can be tapped into via training. A ton of Pokémon probably could use it, but why do that when they have the power already? Humans use it because over the course of their divergent evolution from Pokémon, they lost the ability to use infinity energy for combat.

Sir Aaron appears in the afterlife at the end of the movie, so we know it's not a reincarnation thing. Fairy tale girls talk about rituals and the sort all the time and some claim to be WAY older than they look. Hex maniacs also talk about rituals all the time and sometimes hang out with fairy tale girls. I forgot who made the destiny knot, but i remember it being one of those trainer classes. Sages get to be OLD as heck, so there's that. One claimed to have witnessed an event that happened 200 years ago. If that isn't nature powers I want their dieting and workout routines LOL.

(Rambled a little bit at the end so sorry in advanced lol) Honestly, I wished pokémon would touch on this more. I mean humans and pokémon have been living alongside each other for literal years, so it wouldn't surprise me if humans tried to harness their powers to some capacity as well. Also something I wanted to add on your thoughts of the dark type being like evil aura, you could say that their same but its the principles and practices that make them different. The dark type could only focus on their energy and the power that comes from aura, completely disregarding the other abilities of it. Where as proper fighting types who channel aura focus on balance. Controlling their emotions and power, following an actual Martial Artists approach. Rather then speaking absolute victory, they seek to better themselves and those around them. It might by why in the end dark is weak to fighting, because they haven't found that balance and thus will never be able to harness their true potential.

I know this mainly focuses on the games and anime, but in the manga the Viridian forest is magic and people born there can telepathically sense Pokémon emotions and heal Pokémon. Such people are one of the protagonists, Lance, and motherfucking Giovanni

I agree and here how I think this works. Humans are a species of Pokémon. After all, we humans in the real world are animals. We're related to monkeys. We are very smart animals (though that can be debated at times ^^'), but animals regardless. So humans are a species of Pokémon, albeit a very specific one who, just like us in the real world, can adapt to their environment to survive. This adaptability may translate in an Ability similar to Keckleon's Color Change, allowing them to change types according to the environment. But since most of them live in cities and don't fight themselves, they most likely still keep their base normal type. But that adaptability they have also allows them to learn all kinds of moves from various types. They can learn Fighting moves, Psychic moves, Ghost moves... Maybe they can also learn moves from different types naturally. Like, as you said, humans that specify in everything related to Dragons may start to develop slight Dragon-like attributs as well as their abilities. I'm sure that they can manipulate all types technically, but even if they couldn't, they could still replicate them. What prevents a Fire Breather to use Flamethrower ? For example in the Zarude movie, Coco, the wild child who lived in a Forest for most of his life, ends up not only learning a Grass type move, but also it's the Zarude's signature move. Humans can learn all moves, it seems. And also, even before he learns any actual Pokémon moves, he uses vines that he attached around his arm to simulate the move Vine Whip, and there's barely any difference. That's part of that adaptability I keep mentioning. Even if they don't have these powers, they can use their creativity to recreate them. But there's one problem, one that limits the humans' potential. Society. They started living all by themselves, away from other Pokémon and nature, and therefore aren't aware of their powers. Not only that, but they see themselves as superior to Pokémon, catching them and training them as their leader. And not only is this morally questionable, it limits their potential. But the truth is, humans aren't superior to Pokémon. They're Pokémon as well, they should be equal. But their separation from nature caused them to forget that and not consider themselves as Pokémon. But in the past, before society as we know it existed, they were equal. A book in the library of Canalave City in Sinnoh describes these times when there were no abtract distinctions between humans and Pokémon. It also says the two could get married because, once again, humans are Pokémon too, and the humans of these ancient times were aware of that, and lived in harmony with Pokémon and with nature. I'm sorry this was long, but this is a subject in Pokémon that fascinates but that not many people think of, partially because Game Freak will probably never acknowledge this clearly, exactly like they won't acknowledge the dark and deep lore of Pokémon Life Force.

Your theory of bug type energy having some form oof hive mind isn't too crazy. In Spiderman comics, there's a concept called the Web of Life which connect all multiverse spiderman so if that was in Pokemon it could be similar to how Electric pokemon can communicated as seen by Pikachu and Dedenne. As for Dark energy I think it works like in a fanfic I read with Psychic energy requiring focus and calmness with the chaotic and brutal nature of Dark energy and to a lesser extent Bug energy , disrupting their moulding/manipulation of said energy.

Dude. In Chinese and Japanese mythology, the Aura is the Energy of Life. Its the Soul itself. Your Ki and Chi combined create Aura. Ash having Aaron's Aura does indeed imply Reincarnation... In the pokemon world, Mental Energy and Physical Energy combine into the Ninja's Chakra. Chakra is the Opposite to Aura... You only get one. For example, Janine and her father, Kogan, are master ninja, they use Chakra techniques and ninja arts. They cant use Aura. Ash can use Aura, but try as he might, he can't learn any ninja skills. It's when these energies combine that "miracles" occur... Leading to Battlebond Greninja.

While watching this video, a thought occurred to me: Dark-Type power seems to be something close to cursed energy from Jujutsu Kaisen. It's a power born from negative emotions and the actions that can cause them. This explains some things, like why some Pokémon are Dark-Type, despite not necessarily being malicious themselves, or certain types of matchups, like dark being strong against psychic

The only powers that I never got an answer for are the Viridian Forest powers from the Pokémon Special manga. The legend goes that every decade a child of Viridian Forest has powers. The confirmed users are Giovanni, Lance, and Yellow. Yellow has healing, telekinesis, mind reading, and level boosting powers. Lance stopped using his powers after a while. Giovanni, however, has shown no hint of having powers. I don't know if the manga community has changed nowadays, but every time I questioned how Yellow's powers worked, I was shunned for questioning Yellow.

I had a theory once. Humans hunted pokémon in the past. They were unable to damage pokémon without strong aura, so they created devices to capture and turn them against their friends. Professor Oak worked with others on a project to create an intelligent and powerful pokémon they could control, but after countless failures, the first success escaped. Oak didn't abandon the concept of pokémon experimentation, but chose to stay in his lab with a few assistants and his 2 grandchildren. Almost around the same time, he overheard a woman named Delia wishing on a star that she could have a son. Oak took advantage of this opportunity and came to her house to take advantage of her. While the oblivious Delia was asleep, a child like no other would begin to grow inside of her. This child had far greater aura than any normal human should have. He was born with strange lightning esque marks on his cheeks too, but Delia just waved them off as "birthmarks." Ash, like many other kids, wanted to be a pokémon master, so after his 10th birthday he ran to the nearest starter reception ceremony to get his own. A pikachu was all that was left, and it was very aggressive, but to everyone's surprise, Ash tamed him and the 2 became one of the strongest duos in the region. Ash caught loads of other pokénon while filling out the pokédex he was given by Oak, who was secretly monitoring his progress while making the ocassional visit to the Ketchum household to rizz up his new "acquaintance". Slowly but surely, Ash began showing immense feats of strength, agility, and endurance far beyond the natural human capacity. Stranger still was his non aging body, and his bond with seemingly every pokémon he comes across, including the legendaries themselves. It's almost as if they are.... drawn... to him. By some kind of commanding aura only they can feel. Who....what... is that boy?

I don’t think any superpowers based on other types would work because psychic ghost and fighting types are fundamentally connected to human nature. Psychic is human mind. Ghost is human spirit. Fighting is human bodies. These three types take what makes us human and enhances them. So it makes sense. One could also argue that Normal and Dark would also work. But other than that. The other types do not contain what makes us human. So they will not work as human powers.

Humans have something that Pokémon want. A coach, basically. Pokémon can evolve through gaining strength, and some can find a stone in a rock to evolve. Humans have mastered these techniques, and understand the underlying cause of these powers. Pokémon also secretly crave to return to when Pokémon and people were truly bonded as one, so sticking around is the best option. Humans don’t rule over Pokémon, Pokémon have willingly allied themselves with humanity. Even with the Pokémon world’s humans enhanced durability, if Pokémon wanted to, they could overthrow humanity quite easily. After all, the God’s of their world aren’t humans.
