However... the trick with "goodbye stranger" is, if you do it from the "best of" album, it does not include the snapping fingers, you must try to find the goodbye stranger right from the Breakfast in America album itself.... otherwise on the best of album, it cuts the snapping fingers out, and just replaces it with the chorus line . . . so thats an FYI
"Crime...." is the turn on album of Supertramp..,saw these guys back when they were touring America for "Crisis? What Crisis" After that they went more pop than classic rock. The 2 albums I mentioned I bought. Not interested in the commercial albums that followed.
Breakfast in America is from the same album as the Logical Song. However, this is a later performance by Roger Hodgson as a solo artist. (Although it's ‘his’ song, he wrote and sang it wth Supertramp.)
"Breakfast in America" is their biggest hit. A true "perfect" album. But some of their earlier work is truly amazing. I'd love to see you react to the piano licks in "From now on" or "Crime of the century", or the epic dimension of "Fool's overture". Not to mention the story of "Rudy" or the keyboard intro in "Bloody well right". And that's just for starters!
Girlfriend really isn't Central and may not even be actual in the song this is about Wanderlust this is about looking over different Horizons for something better and what you have Where You Are
J - you seem to be bringing NEW life to songs I've heard thousands of times in my life. I'm listening to them again with refreshed ears and I can't thank you enough for that, and the enjoyment I (and it seems we) get from watching you discover music that we also love! Keep doing these!! All my best to you! - David
I don't know how its possible but I get so much enjoyment watching your enjoyment. It really fills my heart with happiness! Please don't stop. Your child like excitement ( I mean It in the best possible way) makes me smile... You are a diamond out here. Keep it up! You're succeeding in bringing folks together. Bless you.
TWO IMPORTANT SONGS From "The Band's Last Waltz": "The Weight" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". Others added, "Up on Cripple Creek" and "Mannish Boy". "The Last Waltz" was The Band's farewell retirement concert. It features TONS of great musical greats they knew through the years. Those 4 songs are the critical ones. Believe it or not, people would watch the entire movie with you if you did it.
Been trying to get Jamal to check out the Weight for a couple months now. Especially the live performance with the Staple Singers from the "Last Waltz". Heck, react to the entire movie.
Please consider this Frank Zappa performance. The song is amazing and the solo at the end is heart-wrenching! Thank you for all that you do! Frank Zappa Muffin Man Live 1977 HD
@@iceman10129 To me a sample is just that a small bit, maybe a riff or a few bars, a small sample, used in a song. They used the whole Supertramp song as a template for their song . There's not too many songs like that out there. Maybe the Simply Red song Sunrise that tracks the whole Hall and Oates song or something like that.
Yesss !!, You have chosen the best way to present this song, composed by Roger Hodgson. I was there that day in London, at Royal Albert Hall. If you liked listening to it, you can't imagine living it live !!
I swear after all these years. Hearing these songs millions and millions of times, until now I never knew what they looked like. That is blowing my mind. They didnt have videos in those days and bands were often heard and not really seen
When I hear these songs from my youth I feel lucky I grew up listening to such wonderful music. It makes me feel sad for younger people because great music is just not being made anymore.
I'm gonna keep suggesting Kenny Loggins "Heart to Heart." Trust me, it's got everything you want: Michael Mc-D on backing vocals (and co-writer) and SAX!!!
Love Supertramp. Roger Hodgson has done a few solo albums himself although for the past 20 years (his last album with new songs was released in 2000) he's touring singing his Supertramp songs.
Saw Supertramp live in 1974 and 1979. This is actually a video of one of Rogers solo tours. Saw singer songwriter keyboard player guitarist Roger Hodgson live solo just a few years ago.... by himself on keyboards and guitar, no backing band. still has the strong powerful voice. EXCELLENT! 😎🎼🎶🎶🇨🇦
Is they keyboardist going for the Kraftwerk look? Actually 'Neon Lights' by Kraftwerk might be an interesting listen for the channel. Keep on keeping on :)
'School', .Lord is it mine', 'Even in the quietest moments', 'Its Raining Again' are just a few of the deeper cuts, more likely to be less familiar to the public, but certainly loved by their hardcore fans and worth a listen at any time.
Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, has been touring forever. I saw him about 3 years ago. I highly recommend to any Supertramp fans. I would definately go again.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏,..wooooohoooook👏👏👏👏👏👏, such a treat, yeah it's short, but quite the powerhouse, huh did you see the crowd?,...huh!, DID YOU SEE😳 THE CROWD!!, had to be at least 50 or more thousand, at the very least, love these old bands and from the 70's, stadiums weren't big enough, look at Queen, at what was it live aid?, when the camera pans out, and shows all those people, all those souls in one place, one joyous moment in time, thanks Jamal for sharing your explanation with us!,..brings back memories for us good ones, keep going , Godspeed, Peace ✌✌
