I have a gecko too! My 2 dogs (Alaskan Malamute and Northern breed mix) have been wearing cones of shame for months due to flea induced dermatitis plus food sensitivities and now I'm suspecting zinc deficiency. It's a complete science getting pet food right. Even my cat is having chronic respiratory illness and I'm having to fine tune food for a very picky eater. I find the animals are very smart and intuitively know what they need, hence the dirt eating and corporophagia.

where did you get the information about northern breeds and zinc? i read it in one place and haven't heard it again until you mentioned it. i have a husky/malamute mix so i'd really like to get to the source of that information to supplement her properly. thanks!
