Good to see/drive up on ya again in traffic the other day! I promise, I'm not *that* much of an a-hole driver. Can't believe I wasn't subscribed! I'm looking forward to the next video and the next mid-commute meetup!
I stumbled onto your channel yesterday while searching for small SUV to UTV conversions. You do a good job with everything. I’m really surprised you don’t have more subscribers. You’re obviously very talented.
Nice work so far man, can't wait to see it all buttoned up! You're giving me motivation to finally pull the trigger on doing this with my Gen 1 Forester.
I feel the pain on the tarp style shed getting taken out, I've had 4 of them wiped out by wind, i finally ended up getting one wrapped in metal siding, and built a shed out of pallets and house wrap
Pretty good work overall + kudos on doing it with TiG. I’m not sure why you didn’t box in the top of the bedsides with square tube while in the construction stage. Also I don’t know anything about frame structure on a Subaru, but most likely unibody - I would think the first step is constructing a sturdy framework from roof to rear suspension area to replace all the roof structure that was removed. Could you do another update video at 6 mo or a year to review how everything held up? I’m curious on the rustoleum paint too - in my experience, it never lasted longer than a year or so, especially in cold weather. Also, it usually doesn’t adhere to plastic for nothing…
Thanks! You are pretty spot on, I agree that method of making the bed would have been more structurally sound but I wanted to work with the geometry of the Subaru without adding more than needed. Also the Rustoleum chalked up pretty quickly and is flaking on the front grille (plastic), also the bed but I am pretty rough with it. The project is holding up well overall, has been my daily for quite some time. Waterproofing the bed definitely needs addressed but I have some ideas. I will post a video when I get the motivation to edit.
