RIP to my brothers and fellow soldiers Sgt Ford and SSG Goins; and Nermin from the 1986 Labelle's Disco bombing. CSC Scouts - 4/502 Infantry. We were all together that fatal night club hopping as usual. My Guardian Angels were with me that night. This song was one of SGT Ford's favorites, Nermin and mines. That brother and Nermin would dance their butts off all night to this song. "Miss you big brother." Nermin had the sweetest smile and could dress her butt off. So many good memories and one I wish never happened. This song brings back so many good memories from so many good times in Germany.
@@coldhardtruth233 there was still a lot of trash in the 1980s and radio was rigged back then but there was still a huge diverse amount of music back then. music died in the 1990s and was too simple sounding prior to the 1960s. the 1960s to 1980s had the best music. everything before and after those decades is wasted time and effort.

It's not gonna happen. This music was born out of a certain time period, where specific influences and inspirations played a part in it's creation. In 2018, the current climate of art is not conducive to this type of wonderful music.
yes, this is true, the current climate does exist that prohibits this wonderful music to be continuous but it didn't happen by coincidence but done so deliberately......this level of music and the content that we enjoyed should have never changed but forces took it and began to degrade it......There's a book written about the entire experience and provides step by step analysis how this deterioration took place and destroyed not only our music by music's brightest star........

A particular song it was during Desert Storm, Saudi Arabian Desert. I was unpacking and turn on the radio, D.J. Casey Kasem Top 40, Surface "Happy" was playing on the radio. For a moment, I was overjoyed and couldn't believe it was playing in the desert. I thought about friends and how they were celebrating the success of the band. I couldn't wait to get home and celebrate with my friends.

Gowing up with Brian Jackson and Bernard Jackson, I knew them both very well. I came to the house, and Bernard played his guitar on the floor. He could sing the Jackson 5 songs, and everyone in the neighborhood knew he was talented. I last spoke with Bernard in Stamford, Charley Bowlers Bar. We talked about Surface, " Happy," and that it would be a big hit. The name "Surface didn't ring a bell with me until I watched BET. I was watching the video "Happy" for the first time. The video was excellent, and I couldn't stop talking about it.
