Me and My husband has dermal anchors on our fingers instead of wedding rings. First we had One as engagement "rings" then we did two smaller on each Side as wedding rings. Love it!
Although the cons of my experience with my surface bar certainly out weigh the pros I’m glad I didn’t get dermals. Firstly for pros; After around 4 years with my bar and still no rejection ( there is a tiny scar in the middle of the two piercings were it did want to reject but never did). Secondly the location (probably why rejection never occurred) the bar is located above my right eye brow parallel with the brow. I’m unsure if it’s possible to receive dermals here. CONS; unfortunately due to being an older bar it’s almost impossible to find jewelry that will fit. Most bars now a days are push in jewelry while mine is the outdated screw ins. Second con; the removal of a bar is much more complicated. I currently still have my bar but looking into removal, I’d much rather get a dermal removed than my surface bar due to the inconvenience and pain that a bar would cause. In summary, your body is your body, and I wouldn’t be afraid to experiment with either of these piercings. I’m so happy with my surface bar years later and although I seriously would consider removing it, I wouldn’t feel like the same person without it.
Note: “MY” bar was placed in around 2016- 2017. If you are to get a surface piercing today you’re most likely going to get a bar that takes push in jewelry. If you are told it’s not push in I would consider not getting it. My biggest problem with my surface bar is that I can’t find jewelry to fit it because it’s outdated.
I want a vampire bite piercing and I've already figured that to make it look cool (I want them a bit further apart) a surface piercing probably won't work. Glad to see that dermal anchors are the better choice anyway haha Thank you for the video!
Could you do one of these videos one web piercings? Smiley, tongue web, etc.? Seems impossible to find info on those piercings since they aren’t as common as the other piercings. Love these videos and they really came in handy when I was researching new piercing options!
i do really want a sternum piercing... but i'm not quit sure which would be better if a surface or a dermal ... prolly i would do a dermal ... i've already 2 dermal in my collarbone but idk lol
Thank you sooo much I was really interested and excited to get the Tragus surface piercings on both sides of my face but I haven’t had the best experience with surface piercings due to having one done incorrectly above my bellybutton she even used the incorrect jewelry..
My dermal anchor wouldn't 'take', it just kept showing signs of not healing right so went to my GP (local Dr) who said he could remove it 'easily'. 40 minutes later and a lot of scalpel work, it finally came out. Didn't heal but my tissue underneath sure grabbed on tight!
Next time go to a piercer to remove it. Doctors don’t have the correct tools to take ‘em out so it takes them longer plus you want that doctor bill? Lol It takes about 2-3 minutes to remove with a piercer that knows what their doing and it’ll heal completely.
I actually got 2 nape dermals. They both healed very quickly and never bothered me at all. 1 year later one of my dermals regected. The other one never gave me a problem but I still had it removed too. The removal was the worst part! But my piercer had warned me about the probability of rejection.
Brittney Monk I had dermals done twice by my eye they both rejected after a yr as well. I was so upset. I tried doing everything to save it and it was expensive. I just got a surface aka butterfly kiss done last week n love it. Hope it doesn’t do the same.
I have to get my dermal removed tomorrow, I got it in October and I didn't ever bump it much but it's getting pushed out, I think I should have gotten it lower
Same thing my piercer told me she said not to get the surface tragus she said get the dermal tragus and since she told me that everybody has been telling me to just get dermal so that's what ima get im just scareddddd lol ima get it tho

How bad is the scar after a dermal near the eye I just got two and after a eyebrow piercing gone way to deep years prior I worry about the scar I may he stuck w eventually!!!!
@@adoreannna i have not 😬 just changed it to a shorter curved barbell and have been trying my best not to get it irritated. mine is a vertical bridge so it's kinda easier to not hit it
Been thinking about getting a vertical labret piercing which is technically a surface piercing. Do you happen to know if these are less likely to reject compared to other surface piercings?
I've had mine for about five years now and the only thing I noticed is that it moved a bit to the bottom. The upper ball used to be close to the top of my lower lip and now it's pretty much in the middle and the piercing canal seems to have shrunk a little, but it hasn't moved/rejected any further during the past years. Still love it to bits, but probably wouldn't get it redone if it were to grow out cus that thing hurt like a bitch, lol
I have a question about the dermal dimples vs the regular dimple piercings... do the dermals look as good as the dimples? Do they have the same deep dimple look even though they are just on the surface?
My dermal anchor on my third eye, lasted only 5 months I believe that this is because one side is smaller than the other side if both sides word about the same length I think it would have still be there, is there any other piercing or jewelry that is stronger??
I have a staple bar for my wrist piercing it’s been fine for about 5 weeks now and it’s now hurting and alittle puss comes out that just don’t look good looks like it mit be infected but it’s hard to tell as I’ve never had this before. Need help ASAP cause really don’t want to have to take it out as it’s not rejecting.

How do you recommend that I clean my surface tragus ? Because It’s looking good but it’s starting to scab. Maybe from dry blood. But idk how to get it off ?
