Thanks a lot! But, sorry, It’s not clear to me, what does the coating consist of? Polyester, epoxy resin, or (varnish/ lacquer)

You are correct. But I believe all the strength is is the rails of a surfboard therefore I don’t like to put dowels in. You make a breaking point at either end of the dowel. This will be due to the dowel being to stiff and not flexing. I’ve seen it a million times. Hope this helps

It's much easier to get a perfect lineup without dowels.
