The first sketch, with the person inside of a glasslike person is probably one of my favorite pieces of art i've seen in a long time. Idk why but it just really captured my interest. Love it.
Obviously I love the art, but I also REALLY like the time you take to explain each piece, like your mindset and ideas before hand, and how they transitioned to finished pieces. Thanks!
Myriam, the 3 headed creature with the baby calmed me because its like it tells a sweet story of a lost child in the woods that was encountered by a harmless alien that ends up caring for the child and it also seems it tells a moral, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I love all of your art. Every piece tells a story and it just makes me want to make a story and a movie about each one. I am 13 and going to 7th grade and your art seems to give me a better perspective of the world. I'm not a professional artist like you but we do have similarities, we both like sketching weird creatures, and you just gave me the urge to write a story about your 3 headed creature. Thank you.
Jesus...this is the best art ive come across so far as an artist on youtube that I actually really like and have similar art styles to. You are GOOOOAAALLSSSS.
OMG! Your artwork is so good that all your sketches look like finished pieces!! You should make an artbook =)) I find your art so insteresting and inspiring. I definitely don't understand whats going on in your head, but keep it up because it's amazing ahahaha Love your channel
Clear resin would be a good option for the dome around the head of the sculpture you were discussing 😉 casting the body/ skull first and then encasing it in the resin 👍
April Marie Art facts just do the i think its called the pour and tilt method in a mold were you just pour in the resin and roll it around the mold completely covering it then just build up the layers
Yes,Clear resin would indeed be cool! Unfortunately it would require a more complex moulding and casting process, as it would need the part to be cast in resin to be moulded separately from the rest of the piece. I was thinking more of using silicone, as it would also have a cloudier finish, and a more organic look, especially if I used some pigment in there. Resin can be beautifully clear, and that could be super cool also though. :)
That requires a fast setting resin, which is rare with clear resins unfortunately. And unless you have a rotocaster, doing it by hand can lead to uneven thicknesses. It is a good method for fast resins though, especially when you only need a thin layer of material instead of a block (which I would need as I'd want to encase the skull in there). :)
Very cute, I like this book. I rarely see sketchbooks holding unity, for example in color scheme or field in which the concepts flow. The unity of the red and blue combination, with most of the pieces composed in those two colors dominantly, and even the concepts being around a small handful of concepts, namely surrealism and unsettling (kinda horror-ish, warped productions) type work gives a sketchbook that's unlike most, with most sketchbooks being wildly variable from page to page. It's nice to see an example of a sketchbook with an internal set of themes - I really would like to see more examples of this. I look forward to seeing your future works, as you grow into a more and more realized artist!
I am so glad i found your channel. Thank you for such an incredible walkthrough, it gave me so much inspiration and different ways to draw abt what i think!! I adore ur paintings and sketches because the concept has multiple layers and ways to look and think about them.
I am on your channel for the first time . The first thought that came to my mind when i heard you is your voice is sooo soothing . Subscribed right away 😁
This sketchbook was remarkable. Loved every piece, from cover to cover. You’re my biggest art inspiration, I felt emotionally connected to each piece. Great job!
It seems that since I've been watching art videos, a lot of them get comments about people liking their voices, and how relaxing and calming their voices are. Interesting. Maybe it's an artist thing?
You and I work sooo differently. I always just start with no concept except an idea in my mind and sketch it out on paper, then go in with any other medium. I never have any plans for a drawing, I just go in with any colors I think work for the piece. I also never use reference except when I draw portraits of people that need to be recognizable as a certain person. Other than that I just drae straight from my head. Sometimes I'll use a mirror for extremely difficult poses but I mostly can't stand using picture reference lol
Wow i'm shook... I've watched loads of different sketchbook tours, but i like yours so much... Your style is so creative and amazing. And the way you draw hands😍. You are sooo good💕💕💕💕I subscribed
I also find the sketch of the three headed creature holding the child really comforting. The first thought I had was "oh, how sweet" because the creature seems really attentive and is holding them close and carefully. Made me feel a bit warm actually haha. Anyway, I love all your work! But that one especially!
like the bird with a human head the most even though ive seen this idea already a lot in other artists pages fb instgram etc before. all in all i think ur art is very unique ,great work
Haha, that's because birds with human heads are mythological creatures called Harpies. They are a well-known creature in myths and lore. Thank you for the kind words!
I just love your art and the ideas that you have. I use gouache mostly so it’s good to see how other artists use it. The red pencil and India ink ones were my favourites and the parent holding the baby.
wow, this sketchbook is truly stunning! i’ve been wanting to get back into drawing/painting for a while now and this is really inspiring me to finally get behind my desk again! :)
is so inspiring see your sketchbook tours! i really like your art, and concepts, isn´t conventional but is always gorgeous. i wish you the best! keep going with your incredible art!
It's my bedtime but I saw the notif for this video and BOOM, I had to watch it!! It's like you have endless concepts, you put them on paper so well. It's just surreal.
Really enjoyed your sketchbook tour! Your sketches and concepts are amazing. I also really loved the one that you found soothing (with the 3 heads and the small figure in the arms). Keep up the awesome work!
I love the concepts and ideas you put behind your art, I have been practicing trying to think through my art more and make art with a purpose and plan more. Also your art is so unique and inspirational keep it up!!!
Thank you à lot for the opportunity to watch your amazing talent🌿 You inspire a lot just to sit and paint💙 Hope, some day, I will manage to develop my personal style and by this enjoy my life a little bit more 🌲
I love that sketchbook too!! I remember it being a black cover (before being brown and recycled) and low-key freaked out when I couldn't find it in stores 😂😂😂
Absolutely amazing, Myriam! I’m so happy for you that you have developed your style to the point that you can really express yourself with your concept execution. I feel like I’m so close to juuuust starting to do that and seeing your work evolve has really inspired me to explore what I want to express with my artwork. You are amazing and I’m so grateful to have your artwork in my life 😘
Thank you very much Anastasia! I'm very grateful to have net you via this online community, you are so kind and supportive, I don't know where I would be without you guys!
Why did i just discovered you? You're work is so amazing and inspiring and, i don't undesrtand what this means most of the time but it's beautiful and it has some feelings i couldn't describe. And your laugh ! I love it so much, it's a genuine laugh and aaaa i love this and your art and all
I know this is way later than you uploaded, but this art is very interesting to me. I could really relate to those first couple of images where there is a person inside another body. Feel like i've been trying to figure out who I am forever. Like the "real me" wants to get out but is trapped
I can totally relate, I end up actually working on a few ideas out of a swarm of them 😂 but damn all of them are so great and detailed and they always convey some sort of message which is mostly very moving!
Omg.......i just found you.....and I already love you I love your style I love your voice I love how creepy yet beautiful everything is ! You are amazing !
This comment might seem a bit random, but your art really reminds me of Junji Ito. He makes horror mangas and has this kind of surreal, dark style as well. I really love your art though and I admire that you can come up with so many different ideas!
I would really love to see a video of how you set up your portfolio using squarespace. I have a squarespace for my portfolio, but am struggling finding the best way to set it up or how to make it look professional as an art portfolio. I want it clean and simple
That isn't really the type of thing I do on my channel, sorry, but as far as advice goes, I basically just tried out all their templates and looked at other artists' websites and took note of the elements I liked and why and tried to make my own along those vibes. I love the theme I have, and actually didn't need to modify it almost at all. I'd say just look at all their free themes, or find a theme online that you like and just install it and play with it!
When you turned to the three headed person with the baby, I exclaimed aloud 'that's gorgeous!!' I don't find it creepy at all, like you I find it calming =)
