Afternoon everyone - we just wanted to say that we're aware of this video and confirm that as a Force we respect and affirm the rights of members of the public in filming officers, staff and buildings etc in public spaces. We'd like to highlight, as you'll well know, that the presence of a camera may, rightly, cause our officers to ask a few questions in particular to assess any potential threat or risk to our colleagues or buildings. As our officers did on this occasion, we really just want to check that everything is okay and confirm what you are doing. We would confirm that you are not under any obligation to provide us with your name. We pride ourselves on good relationships with the public and we want to work with content creators in a positive way. In terms of your comment about Surrey Police not performing well, we've looked at the results from our county-wide survey in March 2021 and we're pleased to say that 88% of residents in Surrey said they have confidence in their local police force. We can confirm that the man at the end of the video is not an employee of Surrey Police, and that we have not received any allegations or complaints from the original poster, channel owner regarding the man's behaviour. Well done Surrey Police. Hope other forces follow in your footsteps. Photography is not a crime especially these days when everyone has a mobile camera in their pocket at all times.
He was friendly enough, but it was the first time I saw a PC introduce himself with name and shoulder number and inform about the fact that his camera is on. It would be nice if he could train his colleagues.
Dude was like "I'm going to fuck up this auditors whole day... Hello Sir, my name is blah, my shoulder number is blah, my body camera is on" - They actually employed a bloke with either common sense or the ability to read memos from their own fucking boss.
Then 'don't' download the video and send it with your complaint to the council / director of the building. It needs not only one, but the whole community to stand united.

People who lie about being a police officer while at work clearly have some mental deficiencies or possible drug issues, as displayed thru this mans tone, attitude and body language, or maybe he was raised incorrectly in an unhealthy environment and never got the help he needed to sort it or make sense of it and so has immature unhealthy outbursts of aggression and nonsensical behaviour like we've all seen on display here, all are possibilities that could end up to a broken man child like this one.
The police officer did it exactly to the book. ID, collar number and name, also informed you that he was recording, all without prompt. If anyone gets arrested by this guy, it’s because they deserve it. Then the weird arsehole goes and spoils it.
The first officer fully identifying himself and saying he was recording in his introduction was perfect, then he goes on to be very polite and not pushy whatsoever! Finally, after so so many get it wrong. I know he was still trying to get information but at least he wasn't a twat about it.
@@jasoncdebussy They are allowed to ask questions, nothing says they can't. Would you prefer them just to walk silently on the streets and question no one? Honestly some of you guys ideas on policing is brutal and would cause crime to skyrocket.

He was attempting to use misinformation for harrasment and distress, it's the only reason he said it, and that misinformation was to impersonate a police officer, which is the exact thing that the laws are put in place for....the manipulation of others for your own gain

Just finished the interaction with the first copper and to be honest, he couldn’t have handled that any better. Walks up, identifies himself by name and collar number, informs you he is filming and asks a few probing questions, gained enough information to be comfortable with it and is on his way. Let’s see what’s in store for the rest of the video

That 1st Police officer is an absolute legend....no power tripping and very polite (probably because he was tall) if it was a small police officer they have to let you know who is the boss to DEMAND respect. That other walking caricature that looks like he got dressed in his sons clothes at the end with a chin bigger then his IQ is prime example. A policeman came, introduced himself, gave his shoulder number by himself, said that his camera is on and asked politely if it's ok to ask a few questions. Dear god, we saw so many unprofessional cops that I am shocked to see one that is doing his work properly!
Addlestone station. Know it well, pass it regularly, and even did a bit of filming/photography around there too. Nice to see they were respectful and professional. Personally I don't have an issue with an officer coming out to have a chat. It's the attitude with which the 'chat' is conducted that, for me, is the important aspect.

It should not be necessary for a formal complaint to be made in order for you to take action.

Your not supposed to take temp to the head like that either it can be damgerous, those monitors should be used on wrist only. Also they cant make you take it anyway just refuse no diagnostic can be forced or any disadvantage given for refusing.

Fairplay that 1st officer was actually alright for a change; presented himself, polite, chilled out, friendly, asked the right questions and quickly determined there were no further powers or section 43 he needed to use. Nice to see a positive audit for a change, one that builds the publics trust in the force.

It's all about the wording. "In an attempt----- to cause alarm and distress." The key word is attempt, in other words the person with face coverings must be using said covering to deliberately intimidate, for example a bank robber in a balaclava.
