The Infected is a survival crafting game set in an open world sandbox. The story revolves around how a virus at first was under control with a treatment that seemed promising. A drug trial seemed to work, as the population was becoming healthier again and fatality rates were dropping. However, some unexpected side effects began to arise, causing human DNA to mutate them into a Vambies.

Do not fight Boars alone: even the knights of the past fought them with specialized spears, swords, packs of dogs, often horses, and certainly not alone. Spears were also often used to hold the Boar in place while someone else stabbed it in a vital area, not to actually kill the beast, so really don't count on that.

3:54 yeah fire is a tricky one you have to really know what your doing with alot of methods, even something as simple as some Cellophane and a battery requires steady hands, plus once you make that fire you have to know how to keep it going, and how to make sure it doesn't get out of control as well as when it's appropriate to even start that fire and when it might not be, people don't think about this, predators have very good senses, and over thousands of years many predators like bears for example have become adapted to humans and how humans do things, studies have been conducted and show that, Grizzly Bears react to smoke, they know where there's smoke there's probably an easy meal (not you to be clear, I mean yes maybe if they're really desperate and hungry, but the majority of predators, everything from sharks to bears, don't like humans, most predators were like heavily rotting old dirty dried up meat in the middle of a football field worth of less disgusting, more nutritious, and less energy depleting/more reliable foods, now every now and then they may get a little curious and maybe go in for a little taste, but they learn quick that humans are pretty gross, but then again desperation makes even the nastiest things seem like a 4 course meal so who knows) a lot of people will be like yeah I know how to make fire, okay you've made fire....now what...that flame doesn't burn forever and you don't want it to, because you might as well strap a bunch of raw beef cuts to your person and run through the savanna at that point, you have to actually understand how to implement the tools at your disposal in moderation

if you know your geology you could probably find out where flint or chert could be mined for starting fires/making tools, for example if you are in a carboniferous area you are likely to find coal and flint, so much of it on the beaches in my experience.

On the subject of not bothering with long term shelter because you're probably going to be rescued before it would matter... most of these games drop you in with a premise of "This is your life now, nobody's coming, deal with it." In that situation, a sturdy, permanent structure would probably be a better idea, right?

I wish they would more clearly credit the gamers. I can see if I look there's a small credit down the side of the screen, but it's easy to miss and partially covered most of the video. I was just thinking, hmm, that voice sounds familiar...

As a fan of history, some comments about the structure: 1) the timber is NOT cut. Sawing and milling is way too much work and uses up tools much more than you want. What you do instead is splitting wood into beams following their grain. This is far faster and more economic. However, you end up with somewhat wobbly beams... Timber frame structures were used to save beams, as dirt is, well dirt cheap... Typically, houses did not have planks on the ground floor, again to save work. Only upper floors had cut planks so that you have a smooth surface. 2) Melting pure quartz is not easy. Just as with metal smelting, you can reduce the melting point with mixtures, if you find the ingredients. Humans used glass for a long, long, time, but for most of history, glass was NOT translucent! It looked more like porcelain. 3) For most of our history, we had hearths and not stoves, or ovens. Again, it was about material costs. If you really wanted an oven, it would be probably a big clay pot (think of Tandoori) and the ovens bakers use were usually communal, as it would have been an utter luxury to have such a huge thing for just one household. Houses were also usually just one room not just to save work and material, but mostly due to heating and lighting. BTW: there are a bunch of RU-vidrs that go into the wild and make real huts, which are absolutely luxury for Kinga, but were built in a couple of days up to one month. That gives you a far better impression of what would actually be sensible for long-term survival...

2:40 He is gonna put laminated floor boards and air condition in the spring . . . couch is gonna be delivered from ikea next week. 99% of people are too dumb to build a cabin like that ,in 1800's everyone knew how to build it ,now probably only amish know . It takes months to build it not seconds. 1:29 is my favorite how he chops 3 times and tree goes from green wood to fully dried !

Yeah, but that's because the developer knows you're not going to want to play the game if everything took as long in-game as it does in the real world.
