Samantha, I appreciate that you gave Durelle the space to share without giving up on him because of his past and any residue from his past that I’m sure arises in your relationship. You would be well within your right to say that he has been through too much for you, but you stuck around, and that’s admirable. Durelle, I appreciate that you do not allow your past with one woman to define your relationship with all women. You could be far more jaded than you are, but you choose to make lemonade out of lemons, which is also admirable. The two of you are inspiring people. Rest assured that the two of you are making a positive impact - I pray that you continue to do the highlight reels on socials and the long-form pod episodes for your fans like me!

This is so sad! It reminds me of my husbands story single mom just him and her except he still enables her behavior. She brags about how she told the police to take him and sent him off to military school at 16. he just doesn’t see how toxic she is. She and I don’t have a relationship because I just couldn’t put up with her verbal abuse. I'm still praying for this situation 😢 I pray for your healing!

..not rewrite what you already went through, because I'm so focused on what I went through! The willingness to grow past what I've been through! Profound!

Wow thank you so much for sharing. I had a pit in my throat the whole pod listening to your story. I am so glad God saved your heart and you used you pain for purpose. If you haven’t already please consider writing a book. I pray you do not return to survivor mode and gain a level of peace, understanding, and forgiveness for your mother. You are a warrior wow! Edit: I know it’s going to be an pt 2. But how do you feel your mother’s upbringing affected her parenting?

As I’m listening to his event after returning for the summer, I imagine she had been living to the grandmother and other family members as well. She probably shared the few incidents where you finally had a voice with her as if that was your normal behavior. Sounds narcissistic as it relates to your mom. So sorry you had to experience this. Heart breaking.

Your story broke my heart listening to it. But to see how inspiring and motivating, you are to not only young people, but also adults to show them that there are good people out there willing to listen and help. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

I think his mom is literally a broken soul from deep within and she's acting out of pain. We may not understand why she has done what she has but I'll say pray for her she needs healing a d deliverance and your prayers sill definitely help mold an alter her heart.

This is a sad story. I feel bad for you and your mom. Honestly, at 15, you don't have the maturity to have a baby. So she started raising as a child herself. Sounds like she didn't have the tools to teach and love u properly smh. Sad story

Sounds like his mom may have been inadvertently speaking things she wanted to say to an old boyfriend, etc.😪
