"Hay definitivamente un vínculo entre la suspensión y el sonido, vean por ejemplo este caso donde los auriculares filtran las vibraciones sonoras, la suspensión filtra las vibraciones de la rueda." Demostración, como pueden ver este auto equipado se mantiene notablemente estable cuando esta frenando, y pasa como una alfombra voladora por las lomas de burro. Comparando con un modelo convencional, a la derecha, la carrocería se inclina al doblar y la trompa se hunde al frenar. Otra comparación útil con un auto deportivo, el Porche ofrece una amortiguación menos flexible pero hace sentir más intensamente el relieve del pavimento. Pasando por las lomas de burro con los tres autos se puede notar claramente la ventaja de la suspensión activa. También se puede ver la diferencia girando en circulo con el auto en el estacionamiento. El secreto viene de este motor electromagnético que reemplaza a los amortiguadores de cada rueda, sin resortes, sin fluidos. Los electroimanes desplazan un cilindro como en un parlante de alta fidelidad. Todo esta controlado por un procesador ultra rápido que ayuda a determinar la posición ideal del vehículo. Resultado: una eficacidad a prueba de todo. "Una ventaja de los electroimanes, respecto de las otras tecnologías que conocemos, es la rapidez: el motor es capaz de reaccionar a una loma de burro en un 1/20 de segundo o incluso más rápido." Una invención como tal no podría haber visto la luz sin la obstinación del doctor Bose, fundador de la empresa que lleva su nombre, este apasionado de la tecnología se interesa en la suspensión de los autos hace mucho tiempo, llego incluso a manjar un DS. Pero si quieren hacer como este hombre mejor no reírse hasta pasado un cuarto de siglo. "Si, hubiese sido imposible en otra empresa, me hubiesen echado hace mucho tiempo." El resultado es sorprendente incluso consume tres veces menos energía que un sistema de climatización. Claramente habrá que reducir el peso de los componentes e incluso los costos para poder interesar a los fabricantes, pero tienen de todos modos la sensación estar haciendo frente a una verdadera revolución. +Jason Jia I know its been 8 months, but the reason that we are not funding this is because it was too expensive and heavy to impliment in a car from the factory.... this is a great idea and at the time was too expensive. hopefully bose will reconsider this project...
+Salvador Sandoval Well, when you compare some cheap cars with engine with, lets say under 100kW, with this system and some luxury, sport cars like Porshe with regular suspensions with same price, Ill definitely buy cheap one with amazing suspensions. It looks like toys on racing track, how it doesnt even move when you stear.
@@ecobooms550 that’s a lie. Don’t believe it. Too expensive for who?? A Rollys Royce owner???? A Bugatti owner??? Too heavy for what? This suspension IMPROVES HANDLING. Tesla just offered a $20,000 option for upgraded brakes. There is no good reason why this suspension has not been implemented. If this Lexus in the video can have it, other cars can too.
@@Mabeylater293 it’s not a lie. It’s not something that would have been available aftermarket. They pitched it to manufacturers and they got turned down because of cost. The tech ended up in some really expensive semi truck seats but even they didn’t sell to good At the time there just wasn’t a market for it.
Lotus and GM had this technology working 20 years ago. We'll see if Bose can overcome the issues of weight, cost, power consumption, and reliability, that have kept active suspension out of production cars.
I this one is better than the latest s class airmatic suspension sytem + magic body control system.. which is already very good... but this one superb.... I would be happy to see the comparation side by side (bose suspenstion vs latest s class airmatic + magic body control)
In fact, you might, and pretty soon at that. Dr. Amar Bose is very optimistic about this technology, initially the plans were to introduce this in high end luxury cars by 2009 end. A bit delayed, but this will be reality soon buddy.
this could do a full 3d laser scan of the incoming terrain to build a map... so basicly if u brake like an animal over a sidewalk border the senzor will see it coming and raise the wheel and you will keep breaking past it without any damage to your rim/tire
Makes sense that bose would do it, they're essentially treating your car like speakers and considering they can reproduce 20khz vibrations at 500w with ridonkulous accuracy...
i wonder if they're adjustable from within the car... change your ride height, stiffness, and camber at the press of a button. now that would be awesome
However, Citroën has possibly given the idea, since their cars, to the 50s scenario were the best engineer could offer - when subject comes to suspension. I very much admire that company for it. However, of course this BOSE system looks absolutely incredible.
No, seeing as how this is an automotive suspension and not something you can put in your living room and listen to. I don't know much about Bose, but I went to my friend's house and I swear someone was playing guitar, but it was just a Bose radio. Believe it or not, it's actually quality shit.
I can hear the Knight Rider music now.... (watch the end and you'll know what I mean - Thanks St. Patguy for that idea.) This could be the best thing out of Bose since... Well, ever. Oh, and if they treated this like their speakers, it would be made out of cheap, poor performing materials, that would be expensive due to high marketing costs. :p
Le journaliste ignore superbement au début du reportage le système de suspension hydraulique Citroën, ce qui est une contre-vérité historique et une faute professionnelle. Mention est faite à la fin que monsieur Bose roulait en DS, comme si la suspension Citroën relevait de la préhistoire. Encore un journaliste qui doit avoir bonne conscience d'avoir bien dénigré la France. Il semble, ceci étant, que le système Bose soit un progrès par rapport aux systèmes hydraulique citroën "Activa" et "hydractive".

Mostly because anything sold on TV is generally accepted to be shit here. The last thing I saw was some kind of "amazing" so and so that could be "yours for only 15 payments of $19.99" or whatever. Because Bose was sold through some of those ads, people didn't have as much respect for the product as if they'd stuck to simply TV commercials (instead of ads).
Does this platform provides rally/drifting/offroad roughterrain sport handling? B/c the Jaguar Air-suspension and RangeRover Pneumatic do. Of course, most cstomrs aren't concerned w/sporting, but some of us need the stiff or computer chassis for living! -- Est-ceque cet projet donne le manipulation pour rally et race?
