👀 SPOILERS for the film.
The original screenplay for Suspiria 2018 had plenty of hidden surprises including clearer motivation for Susie, alternate nightmare sequences, demonstrations of Mother Suspiriorum's power and a more ghoulish final ceremony. I'm going to get into each of my favorite takeaways and share them with you.

I'm in a deep obsession with this film so thank you for doing these videos about it! I watched it alone in the cinema 3 times and just couldn't get enough.

Thank you for this - Suspiria '18 is my all time favourite film, and is rarely talked about with any understanding, even by paid, professional critics. Great work not only on this video, but your others in the series. I hope I don't come over as a snob when I opine that most critics of all tiers didn't 'get it' on release (and many of them even retrospectively, the ones that bother at all): I rarely say that about anybody, whether they're professional or amateur - at the end of the day film preference is a matter of taste, and it's fine by me if someone doesn't like this film on the basis of taste...but so many demonstrably, actually didn't 'get it' on the basis of literally understanding it.

Thank you, and AGREED. It’s such a polarizing film that you either get it or HATE IT with a passion. For some reason both films have clicked with me (especially 2018) and neither have left my brain since my initial viewings.

I loved every minute of this - really great job. I love this film so much and am actually heartbroken that more facets of the story will never be told because of the box office results. I wish I could implore some billionaire to finance Luca for another film. I found most disturbing the description of compelling Dr. Klemperer to eat putrid morsels from the witches' plates before the ceremony takes place. Also...when the ceremony is happening, there is a baritone with long hair who is chanting and holding up a girl's hands...the first time I saw it, I thought it was a man, but I think it's the woman who keeps her hair up and is maybe in charge of the costumes? Is that who it is? Again, thank you for putting this together!

Thank you for your videos on this film. I just finally got around to watching it after years of intending to. My partner and I found so much to discuss in it, and your videos are some of the most informative I've found so far. It's sad and surprising to hear it did so poorly. Definitely deserves an Arrow or Criterion release.

Nice job! I saw Possession (1981) for the first time just a few days ago and that reminded me of how enthralling Suspiria was (that would be a GREAT double feature). Thanks for the video. Going to look at the other one now.

Thank you for still making videos about this wonderful film! I didnt watch this one yet (going to catch up on it a bit later) but i'm interested in one thing. Sorry if you talked about it here or anywhere else, but i wonder, what is the significance of crying in this movie, specifically Griffith and also Tanner at the end, when she kind of replaces Griffith in this department. I guess it has something to do with the mother of tears and the sequel we'll never get (shame), but maybe you have a theory? Maybe it is just because they are feeling sad... But there should be more to it, i think. I probably need to watch the video first

Nothing mother of tears related - likely just elation in the case of Tanner and mourning for the lives lost while trying (and failing) to rejuvenate Markos in the case of Miss Griffith.
