I put a pwk 30 carb on my bike and it made it so much better and im running shinko 705 and a led H4 bulb and some bark busters and I love it

Thanks you for the video, I picked up a DR650 last year as a second Bike (Mainly Ride HD). We just picked up a 2007 DR200 for my girlfriend to start riding trails with me.

So I did order a cycle rack for my 2018 and I really do like it. Thanks for the link on that. I also upgraded to a 16 tooth front sprocket, made the bike act the heck of a lot more like a street bike, which is my primary source of driving. Really took the vibration out of the handlebars at 55.

Thanks for a great discussion on the bike. As I get older I’m looking less for speed and more for the ability to ride safely solo. I have several other bikes but feel this might be a very nice additional option. Thanks.

Great overview man! Regarding the Kenda K270 tires, I went with the exact same setup size wise for my DR200. I run them on single track, as well as all types of roads. While not the best in sand and mud, they are decent on dirt. A great 50/50 tire! I'll likely switch to a D606 for a more dirt oriented tire for my typical use, but I can't say anything bad about the Kendas. I would just advise to lower pressures if you want any good grip and feel while riding on double or single track. I air down to ~16psi front and rear typically. Good idea on the heavy duty tubes. Either way, sharp looking bike and I bet your partner will enjoy it! Thanks for sharing.

Great input! Much appreciated. I looked at putting Kenda Track Masters on the DR but wanted to keep it 50/50. Now that she has a dedicated dirt bike, I'm glad I stuck with the K270. Take care.

Nice set-up, I have a 2019, also with the cycle racks rack I tried a nomad rack, and it actually wouldn't bolt up For some reason my rack is black, and we had some major snafus trying to get me the correct mounting hardware But it's on the bike now, with like a 55l drybag LOL

Awesome, love these mods!! Mine dr200 was stolen last year.. thankfully got it about a month ago back but the A-hole tore out my kill switch and key to hotwire.. Finally getting it back up and running but cant find the part number on the ignition system set up.. any chance you can provide that ?? also any recommendations on a front disc brake cover??

For part numbers any local Suzuki dealer should be able to hook you up. Just give them a call. As for a front disc cover, I have yet to see one for our bikes. Take care.

Hi Man congratulations for that incredible bike, I just bought one as my first bike. I have a quick question, I hope you can help me with that. That rack is the one that I want, but I´m just wondering if it allows the passenger to sit comfortably ? I mean the passenger is able to put their feet on the Foot pegs ? Thanks

Thanks! Yes, it does not stop the passenger from using the pegs. The runners for the side of the rack will add some width, but a passenger could still ride it.

yes i just did my grips and i could not find a tube too. i took 50 grit sand paper and 330 grit and just sanded it worked well.. and i got the same grips too

Yep. I would love to see ODI make an adapted throttle wheel for this bike. But like most things with this bike, we have to think outside the box!

Glad to help! Same model as the link as they are universal. The DR200 OEM has a 7/8" bar. I ordered the handguards for a 1 1/8" bar since I upgraded to the larger bar at the same time. Tusk sells mounts for both bar sizes. Just double-check the description when ya order.

Super helpful video and thanks for providing the links to purchase. I purchased the same bar/bar mount/hand guards as you and had a question about using the OEM bar mount bolts to mount the Protaper 1 1/8 bar mounts ... Does the OEM bar mount bolt stick up in the mount, so the bars do not sit flush in the bar mounts? Does this cause you any concern? Thanks!

Glad to help. The bolts should be recessed in the mount and the head should not interfere with the bar sitting in the pocket of the mount.

@@xlr8offroad I was tinkering this morning and you're right. The OEM bar mount bolts work! Very nice work around. I missed that part of your video and was concerned when installing and the bushings were too small for the protaper bolts. Thanks for the reply. Did you have any issues when mounting the plastic controls (kill switch and headlight highbeam specifically) to the new bars. They don't seem like they want to fit. Upon inspection I noticed a notch (like a plastic bump) in both control mounts that looks like it acts like a spacer for the 7/8 bars. Did you run into this by chance? Thanks for your help!

@@keenanhoward1311 I do remember those bumps now that you mention it. I must have forgot to make a note of it in the video. Yes, just need to dremel off the bump and it will fit nice and snug.

I’ve been trying to find and exhaust and some way to do a fender elim for this bike for so long and not much luck. Only a few exhaust options. Any ideas?

Not too many unfortunately. These mods never met the requirement. But, I know FMF makes a nice exhaust that Caustic bolted on. As for a fender eliminator, I would consider a Tusk or Acerbis dual sport brake light kit. I have read of folks upgrading the OEM with these to give them a more modern look.

I was wondering if had to modify the Tusk D-Flex Pro Handguards? I clicked on the link, but the Suzuki DR200S isn't listed only the Suzuki DR-Z 400

Nah, pretty much all offroad bars are either 7/8 or 1"1/8. Just don't mess with the oem bars as they have solid ends. If you want to stick with the 7/8 oem size, just pick up a Tusk bar for $25. Or upgrade like I did. As a note, Acerbis X-factory guards come with clamps for both sizes and look rad. Check out my KLX140R reveal vid to see them on my wife's bike.

Hi, thanks for the video. Question for you. Did you splice into a hot wire or was there an auxiliary wire you could plug into for your USB install?

I added a fused wire back to the battery. This way, I wasn't splicing, and it was easily removeable if needed.

No change to carburetor. Look up Caustic videos. He tunes carb with intake and exhaust changes. He says big power increases.

But, there is no videos comparing performance or acceleration or speed (as you know there is almost NOTHING of material about this beautiful small bike), and my budget would be modify the stock one with a bigger jet and airbox mod, as Procycle Dr650 kit, but something for dr200 :D

I haven't replaced any plastics as they were all in good condition. Oem is likely the only real option. As for a fender eliminator, check out Caustic's channel. He adapts a kit. I kept mine oem as my wife wanted to keep the rear stock.

I would definitely put one on it. The carb orifices are so small they clog easily. All my bikes get filters and I never have issues. Also, drain the carb bowl if you are going to store it more than a few days. Ethanol corrosion will also cause problems.

The other thing I recommend is ethanol-free gasoline. Otherwise known as non-oxy.

What does that fuel filter on petcock do ?

These bikes, like most carb dirt bikes only have a basic screen type filter attached to the petcock in the tank. The little DR200 also has a smaller carb the smaller internal passages like many economical machines. The addition of this filter is great for keeping the little guy running smooth. Is it required, no. But it definitely helps.

The plastics are OEM. The single sticker is a hiking sticker she slapped on there.

I haven't tried, but I would say not a bigger person. A child or small female, possibly. The runners will limit leg room. If a passenger is key, go with the smaller tail rack.
