I own 3 motorcycles. 2019 Harley Street Glide Special with a 117 cubic inch Stage 4. 2018 Harley Breakout with a 117 Cubic inch Stage 4. 2000 Suzuki Hayabua with a full-race prepped 1340 Cubic centimeter turbocharged engine at 21 lbs of boost. None of my bikes are slow. Each one serves purpose. I ride 7 days per week, am a member of a motorcycle club... and I wave to every rider who passes going the opposite direction... Not because of what type of bike they choose to ride, but because they share the passion for riding on two wheels. I hope that one day people will stop putting down other riders and bikes. I ride a Harley, and I knew from the jump that Harley didn't stand a chance. Those Hayabusa's are sick fast! If I were younger,I'd most definitely ride one too!
I'm going to say the Hayabusa was brought in on a trailer and is set up for this and the harley davidson v-rod was rode there and rode home because it's probably a daily riden bike so........not a race but fun to watch.
Couple of observations: 1. As a harley fan for 30 years, its pretty cool this bike even exists. 2. As a Hyabusa fan for 20 years, its pretty cool that my bone-stock Ducati will keep up with this drag ‘Busa. on street tires....
@@louisrivera5074 the car&bike world confuses me sometimes, if a car or bike loses by a second or two, it's considered (by some people) slower than a snail (even though it was on the bumper of the winning vehicle)
I don’t even know why I watched this , lol It’s like watching a video with a title that says athletic sprinter vs 60 year old rec center treadmill guy. But I have to admit I was surprised at how fast the Harley did keep up
My 1996 CBR900 ran 10.60's stock. That Busa is all show. My 2016 S1000RR BMW ran 9.60's off the show room floor. The Busa's days are over. The HD running 11's was more impressive
seanoleary1979 1 second ago HD (and Porsche) came up with the V-Rod to be competitive in drag racing - and it's NOT! HD needs to stick to bloated fall-apart cruisers.
Don't want to start a fight. I am a big fan of Japanese bikes including cruisers. But you have to give credit to HD for building a fast bike for a cruiser. The V-Rod is up there with the mighty and epic Suzuki Boulevard m109, VTX 1800, Yamaha Raider (1900cc), Kawasaki Vulcan 2000cc etc. I'm not a fan boy of HD and I can see their flaws. I simply prefer liquid cooled. The V-Rod was a great fun bike which Harley has killed since it never achieved major popularity precisely due to its engine configuration. Shame to see it go; I really think Harley could have developed this line of bikes into super bikes with the latest technology and a lower retailing price, and finally achieve worldwide popularity (it is a pricy popular bike in Europe).
@@commenter4799 Yeah. Now there are a few, but VROD was the first from Harley. Now they have FXDRs, street rods something called a street fighter soon. Probably a few others. Recently got a night rod special. First cruiser I've ever owned that was made less than 10 years ago. I love everything about it.

I would imagine the guy on the V-Rod was just trying to see what his bike could do. I've owned for Suzuki GSXR 1100 that Harley-Davidson never had a chance unless it had a minimum of five to $10,000 worth of motor work then maybe maybe if the guy you had a ride it properly. But a Hayabusa forget it. Suzuki rocks
Never clicked on this because I thought the Vrod was going to win. Just wanted to see how well it would do. Having seen the comments of the busa fanboys... the busa is almost 100 lbs lighter, has approximately 110 more ccs of displacement, exponentially higher and faster revving, approximately 80 more bhp stock. Of course it’s going to win. Having said that I’d still rather have the Vrod for all day comfort and power when you want it.it didn’t do so bad considering all the aforementioned facts.
The Hayabusa can also handle, brake, and go down the dragstrip alot more than a Harley before needing a rebuild. Don't bring in the cruising aspect. I would much rather travel across country on a Hyabusa than a Hardly Ableson. Wouldn't have to worry about it breaking down. If I want to ride a couch, I'll stay at home.
i know of a 5'3" woman , 115 lbs , races a 345 hp v-rod . McMillan is her last name . her husband was my instructor at MMI. Jimmy McMillan , Hot street AHDRA racer . teaches Screamin Eagle 1 . great guy , great class , great school .
Well not really... the Hyabusa is a sports tourer... just look at the riding position... definitely not "track", and they are very comfortable on long trips.... wickedly quick though.....
V-Rod is fast but the Busa is a legend. You can tell the guy in the Busa is more experienced by his reaction times and the V-rods don't have quickshifters so you loose precious time on every shift.
Hats off to the guy on the Harley, be like you may be fast but I still look cool think I’ll race in my jeans today, might just go straight for a beer after this, 2 lovely machines though

Define stronger. The ONLY thing HD bikes are is that they are more expensive. They are nothing but an image many people have fallen for. In reality they are outdated and outclassed by everything else.

Harley’s at a race track remind me of the jr dragsters, lots of noise and boring , does give time to go have a whizz , grab a beer and wait for fast stuff.
This guy wasn't even pushing it. A stock Busa runs mid to late 9's. That vrod still would have lost if he was racing a stock 600cc sports bike. The 636 ninja I had ran 10.4 in the quarter and it was completely stock. Thats a full second faster than that vrod so even if he modded it he'd be lucky to beat a stock 600cc sportbike.
Guys its not a debatable topic ,its just a choice what kind of ride u want , a cruiser one for composed as well as fast rides or ,u wanna race on tracks.
Busa redline is 11000, Busa with turbo is capable of over 600+ hp, The Busa will go 85mph in 1st. Busa's run 145mph stock in the quarter mile. I'm sure for a cruiser bike the vrod is the one to beat, but to compare it to a Busa or even say the Busa had mods as if modded or not would have made a difference is irrelevant.
Not sure what your point is with this video. The drag Harley ran a 9.9 @134 which is still slower than a stock Busa. The busa in this video ran a 10.8@95 which is a dead giveaway that something went wrong. Bad video to use for comparison.
