Our 12th annual fly fishing trip in the rugged back country of Idaho. Join us as we make our to some of Idaho's remote high mountain lakes. Every year we load our Suzuki King Quads up for this fly fishing/ATV adventure.
Great video Aaron. It's so nice when it's not dusty - been drier than a bone here most of the summer. That last fish was a whale! Wow Thanks for sharin!
Thanks for watching. It’s always super nice to get out and ride after a storm when there’s little or no dust. Those big ones are few and far between l, but definitely worth the wait. Especially fun on the fly rods!
Thank you for sharing this video! 🏕🌲🌳The first quad filming on the rear the second quad gives fantastic view, keep going with this way to film your adventures! 🐻👍Friendly from France! 🗼🇨🇵
Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you like that view of the front quad filming the one following. I like it too and like the additional angle. My oldest brother served a mission for our church in Brussels Belgium and spoke French. Welcome!
Riding these trails on the quads looks like a blast. If I was planning on doing camping I would build a trailer same width as the quad same tires and the axle same distance as the quads front to rear axels. Use it as my chuck box camp gear and battery storage so I can run my cpap machine. I would also figure out a roof top tent setup for it that wouldn’t be to long or wide for the trailer
Wow thanks for the feedback!! Sorry it’s been so long but definitely not done. Its definitely been a slow spell. We’re currently working on getting our Sena communications added into the Audio so our conversations back and forth as we ride are included. It’s also currently tough to get out to do any new rides until winter breaks. I do have some stuff I never finished from last season I need to get done. Thanks for being patient.
Nice video and great trail, lots of rocks and love that long wooden boardwalk someone took a lot of time building that. We always bring a chainsaw with us for all those down trees
Thanks John! Those little bridges are one of my favorite parts of the trail. I also have always liked the more technical parts of the rides. A chainsaw would definitely be the way to go b
Hi Aaron, this is Scott from northern Arizona. Thanks for another awesome ride along! I now have 2900 issue free miles on my 2022 KQ750!! Now that summer is over my wife and ride on the local washes and mountain trails where we live almost everyday. Keep those videos coming!!!
Hello Scott and thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear you’re getting good use out of your King Quad. I’m originally from AZ and miss it in many ways. Tons of great riding there too and lots of different types of terrain.
I don't worry too much about black bears unless you come across a sow with cubs. In my part of Idaho we get a few Grizzlies. Those I worry about! The tiny bears (squirrels) are the biggest pain! I need to explore the Copper Basin more! Great videos!
Absolutely love watching your vids, please keep making them. Living in FL, I don't get to see this. I bought a KQ based off of your vids to use on the ranch, it's been an awesome workhorse.
Very well done both video, excellent audio, and the setting is beautiful. I'm on my 4 king quad and love them. Like to ride that someday. Riden into Kirkwood ranch a couple of times from Pittsburg. Got about 10k with my stihl sm170 saw, we encounter some 22" trees here in so.oregon. 2 cyl will use much more fuel. Nice fish! Cheers
Awesome man! We left Upstate South Carolina late July, and hauled our bikes out to my buddy Forrest place in Fairfield. Left his place and camped near Smoky Bar Store and rode 7 days in the Sawtooths. Two TW200s and a Honda Trail 125. After day 7 we turned north and went really close here to these lakes. A great reason to come back! We rode all the way to Wallace on dirt and then back down. 15 days in the Idaho backcountry. Would love to bring the wheelers out next time so the family can come. Thanks for taking us along! Got some good video of our trip over on the channel if you want to check it out. Love those high altitude lakes!
Hey thanks for watching. Sound like an epic trip you guys made on the bikes. 15 days, that’s awesome. I will get a TW sometime in the not too distant future. Really cool bikes. Also love the Honda trail bikes and would like to find room and money for a CRF 250F
@aaronkelley7448 Awesome! Thanks a ton. Subbed to yours as well!!! Great videos you got man!! Loving it! Good luck on the tw search! 01 and newer had the disc brake front. Definitely recommend that out there!
Great looking trails but personally i do not go into woods without a powersaw . Power saw & fire making tools are two most important items have at all times above all other . Of course compressor & plugs next lol . Pretty awesome trails tho be some real nice riding 👍
A good day out on the Suzuki King Quads! I have a 23 Can-Am Outlander. The DPS on it's lowest setting seems to have plenty of steering power in the rough stuff to the point where I've never increased the setting.
Wrap those logs with your winch, then saw them, then yard the whole bundle as one out of the way. Easy peasy under 5 mins. Do it all the time. Don't let some tree's stop some lifetime memories.
Sounds like a pretty good tire. I’ve seen them before and know they have a pretty good good reputation. I’m pretty sold on the the Big horns, but maybe I’ll give them a try. Wish I had the money to try more options. It gets expensive fast😬. Thanks for watching!
Dewalts smallest electric chainsaw has an 8 inch bar on it. One of those and a fully charged battery would have served you well on this adventure. Finding space for it on your KQ could be challenging, considering how much gear you have.
Some nice size fish ! No power saw ? i bought a new Poulan power saw over 20 yrs ago for $75 best $ i ever spent great accessorie for the quad i have bought been debating on upgrading to a electric one though , thanks for the video Aaron !
Not a bad idea. Until I can get it done here’s a at least a little info. Outcast Deluxe Fishcat float tube. Reddington 5wt rod with Cabelas RLS reel. Weight forward floating line. Flies very from grasshopper patterns to Leaches.
Hey thanks for watching! That’s a good question that I don’t have a solid answer on. I don’t seek out deep water crossings where it could cause problems but I have had to cross some creeks that are a bit above the floor boards and haven’t had any trouble.
Hi Aaron great video #1 look forward to follow up video. Do you not like the Maxxis 2.0 I love them on my KQ750 they seem to me to do well in many different types of terrain. and do you have grizzly bear in that area?
Thanks for watching! I do like the 2.0s that I’ve got on mine. It just seems to me that the originals are even tougher with deeper tread. The only drawback is the extra weight. The originals are definitely heavier and draw down the power slightly turning the extra weight
I should know MPG as much as I’ve Ridden them but haven’t tracked it close enough. I remember putting just over 80 miles on one ride and filled up at that point with a fuel tank I carried. Wasn’t completely out but not too far from it.
@aaronkelley7448 thanks plan on getting your same model so I was curious. I've seen some people say they are horrible mpg. But that's only slightly more than my Honda 520
I think you will like it. In my opinion they are one of the top overall 4 wheelers. I understand being concerned about range because it sucks to have to haul fuel but from my experience they have similar range as most four wheelers. I wish you could get 125 or 130 out of a tank. Guess I need to figure out a way to haul extra for longer rides
Thanks for watching Sherry. We use and really like the Outcast Fishcat Deluxe. One of our favorite features of that specific model is that it’s got air seat and back rest. Most have foam cushions for seat and back rest. They fold up smaller and more compact with the air and take up less room on the quads.
@@aaronkelley7448 I wish I could keep both, but I'm in high school and I have limited space, and I can only really keep one, there's no need for two. Plus, I want to try and get myself money so I can buy a car by myself.
@@aaronkelley7448 maybe I'll keep both just in case until I really need to sell one. Had the KingQuad since the end of 2021, and the Grizzly just bought a couple months ago, Loving the Grizzly so far, compared to the KingQuad!!!
@@FullsendOffroad I am currently looking at the new KQ or Grizzly. Had a 2007 KQ for 10k miles and have loved it for the most part. Any thoughts would be great!
