Suzuki M109R Oil Check

@nwpowerstroker73 Hello, for whatever its worth, the cold check before riding in the morning, after changing the oil the NEXT DAY when you unscrew the dipstick and just touch the threads, then remove it to read it, its right on the Mark. Oil still creeps down to the case from all its little nooks and crannys overnight. The M109 has plenty of oil in that sump, a little down from 3 turns on the dipstic threads, compared to a Oil Overfill Air Box Barf clean up..i will take it. Dont Overfill it. lol

Checked mine cold before watching this after a professional oil change and had 0 oil on the district. Watched this video and checked it the right way and suddenly was taking out exactly the same amount of oil I just added. Full warmup is crucial.

I just bought a 07 M109R limited edition I had oil leaking out my left air filter because they overfilled it when they did an oil change when I first bought the bike so yes you're absolutely right what you just said thank you so much

Not a problem, wish i still had it, i would have done a complete oil change. So many folks at the time had oil issues from over filling, i just thought it might help. The only off the wall comments i get from folks, are from individuals that have never owned a M109R that stumbled across this oil check that feel that every oil check is like checking the oil in a lawnmower. Its so not. ONE who cares oil fill, and it will be hours of clean up.

You're right Justin....... always clean dip stick first and then check.

Just did my oil change since I just replaced my clutch. I recommend getting a container that has marking or mark up one at 3.2 and liters and fill the oil from that.

This one is a 08. After pulling the tank and all the Plumbing and washing it all with Dish Soap(joy) and blowing it all out and letting it dry, not a drop.Turn on the radio,take your time getting all the contaminated hoses and that air box job off. Scrub it all and let it dry. It will be fine once more.If you short cut it, it will piddle oil and seem like it still is leaking. That Oil Gets into Everything, and just creeps down and out. Hope this helps. : )

The VLR 1800 or C109rt states do not screw filler cap in checking oil. Did you screw it all in then take reading or just put onto threads and read like service manual says?

Have you had any issues with transmission problems I been reading some M109 having 2nd gear issues

Same procedure on my sport bike... except you only idle for 3-5min, long enough for it to warm up to normal operating temp... then I use rear stand to hold upright and look through little window. I am gonna sell sport bike and buy m109r... trying to figure out if they even make front and rear stands for these kind of bikes. How do you store over the winter so it's not sitting parked on the tires for 7-8 months?

Hey i have an 09 and its leakibg oik from the left air intake but its alnost due for its next oik change and it just started doing this coukd it be overfill or what else

one question is the 3.4 lt is fine or did you need to add more oil after the oil check

I serviced my m109r the other day,i was a bit spooked about doing this due to the overfilling issue so I measured the oil that I drained and measured the volume and it appears there was 4 litres of oil in it and it never leaked any oil from the air intake,any body know why I got lucky.

Hey hi there, I have 2007, it's at 41,000 km and it coughs at between 2 and 3 thousand revs. Forums say that the fuel filter is blocked, I did the checks stated in the Suzuki Manual and it appears fine. Clues?

I change oil in my m109 3.4 lt and it run fine after 3 weeks i check the level after I ride the bike for 1 hour and find not enough oil add it until the level and now the gear is very sticky is it possible when do much oil the gear are sticky thanks

when I start the my 2012 model m109r, the sound of nocking comes from the side of the clutch and as soon as you press the clutch lever, the sound stops what is the problem of the thing please help me

Hahah, you clearly haven't ridden a European dirt bike, you practically need a PhD in nuclear physics to check the oil in those things. Nah, good video mate, cheers.

What oil and oil weight did you use?
