You don't have to swipe the volume up or down, you just press the + or - and that way it is much easier, also from the steering wheel is even easier still. The vehicle even has a mute button on the steering wheel which is very handy!
I disagree with his point about not getting the Turbo Prestige. LED headlights, rear parking sensors, leather interior, Auto Headlights, Auto Wipers, Polished Rims, all for $2000 extra. Sounds worth it to me. The LED headlights and polished rims make it look a lot more sporty. And this car is not in the same class as it’s rivals. This has a simple design, which some people like. I bought the S-Cross because I think it’s more practical than the Vitara.
I purchased the 2018 model and it's really practical just as you said, it's a great car with the nice kick of turbo in it, I got 2 little boys and it's great for a first time family car, huge boot space and all the gadgets is in it for a great price. Fuel efficient with a great boost when you need it with pedal shifters! I love it. And way better then a vitara by miles. 2000$ extra with a price negotiation, and it's worth it!!!! Auto wipes and led headlights and android /Apple play and cruise control! Basically almost everything! It's awesome! Car !
To add to my comment below, I did buy a 2nd hand 2017 S-Cross turbo. Richard was enjoying the turbo much to much, his figure of mixed driving was 10 litres per 100 kmh, I live in a regional area with a 14 km commute to work on reasonably flat country, my figure all round is 5.8 at the moment. Using the cruise control set to 110 kmh in SA [flat country] gave me 5.6. I know it's fun to get the turbo urge, but I wanted better fuel economy that my old car, and power on tap whenever I need / want it - which the S-Cross does brilliantly!
I'm surprised that an experienced motoring journalist didn't recognise that the S-Cross exists to serve a market that wants less 'bells and whistles' for a lower price than it's stable mate the Suzuki Vitara. They are the sale platform and driveline, different skins and at different price points... that's the whole point of it. The S-Cross offers excellent engineering, drive ability and value with less goodies, for less money. I'm sold!
So if I got it right - in Australia they don't sell the Allgrip version for some reason; but in order to make the car more attractive they glued a cheap plastic "Turbo" badge on it. I had the exactly same "Turbo" badge on my Datsun 1200 in the early 80's (I glued it on the car just for fun - there were of course no turbo in that car). The least I'd expect is that they'd glue a badge that looked similar to the already existing badges on the car.
Nothing wrong with this car, but of course compare it everything else and find fault with every little detail because you dont really like it then top review mate.
yeah....don't know where u get this with 28k $.... i got mine with 19k in aprill this year, allgrip (4x4), automatic full led, 7" multimedia nav, back camera as well, cruise control, heated seats, 17" wheels etc etc and the 1.4, 140 HP its just grate to drive with a 1,2 tones of a car...specially in sport mode....yeah...it got Sport, Snow/Mud, Lock and Auto mode....8.2 l /100km in 3.500 km both city and motorway drive (90-100 km/h u get 4.5-5.5 consumption, 120 - 6.5-7 l, 140 - 8 l and 160 - 9-10 l). for another 1,5k $ u get the RBS (Radar breaking system), front-back parcking sensors and the maps on the multimedia, and for another 2k $ u get automatic gear box, panoramic roof and leather seats. better import one with u want to get the best of the car, or wait for the real 2018 model to came to you, because this model in the review is half 2015 half 2018...it got the front of the 2018 and the back from 2015. Sorry guys, but suzuki must offer u what it offers in other countries....
2011 SX4 beat this simply because it is 4WD with a 2L motor. Add a lift 50mm kit and its what they should be. Suzuki went back on the intention of this design. It should be a cheaper version of the Subaru XV.
Hard to swallow that the price of this car has doubled in 5 years. Suzuki isnt arbitrary about their price increases so its more to show how things have gotten more expensive since then. All the new car gets over this is AWD, parking sensors all around, a slightly larger and newer infotainment and LED headlights in the same base model, thats not 20k worth of a difference.
If i had 30 grand in my pocket now i garantee this is the car i would spend it on. Not seat, merc, bmw, holden/vauxhall. Suzuki scross out of all of them.
In fact, I actually like 2-minute noodles. :-) And I like the S-Cross, which is available with a 4-wheel drive over here in Europe. The 1.4 l Boosterjet is a good little powerhouse with 140 bhp and features either a 6-gear manual gearbox or, sadly enough only available as an option with the top-level trim, a 6-gear automatic transmission.
Blake Swan if you dont need your ego boosting then this car is fine. Get the Allgrip version and along with top reliability and the 1.4 turbo it will last you for years. Show offs in lease cars make me laugh. Everyone is obsessed with image these days. They pay hundreds a month for BMWs and Audis just to show off yet will never own them, yet these same people are probably against renting property because they say its dead money LOL
