SUZUKI TU250X EXHAUST MOD: Emgo Cafe muffler on the TU250X // Slip on exhaust motorcycle sounds

Listen to the sweet sounds of a Suzuki TU250X exhaust when it’s outfitted with an Emgo Cafe muffler. Swapping out the stock exhaust for this aftermarket slip on exhaust completely transforms the sound of the TU250X. Hear the Emgo muffler in action to see what I mean!
You’ll even hear what this same Emgo Cafe muffler sound like on a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 - for comparison- and it sounds a lot different from the Suzuki TU250X.
I bought the Emgo Cafe muffler from a local motorcycle shop, but they’re also available online. If you’re interested in making this purchase for yourself, check out the link below.

Thanks for listening in on! Start from the beginning if you want to hear me give a little introduction to the TU and the Emgo Cafe muffler, or skip to 4:53 to head straight to the exhaust sounds.

I like your editing style on this one. And of course swapping out stock exhausts is what we did to both our bikes first thing.

Thank ya! I think the stock exhaust is almost always the first to go for us. Except for the Lightning. For some reason I'm not really that interested in getting rid of the stock exhaust on that one.

The exhaust mod sounds good on the 'lil bike. But the transitions and entro really brought a smile to my face as I was nicknamed after an old silent movie cowboy actor Hoot Gibson. Before Roy Rogers, Gene Autry and John Wayne, Hoot and Tim Mix ruled the Saturday matinee. It's fun discovering things that even out of context from your motovlog/transitions, that can bring some 'joy' in our lives. Ride Safe, Ride Free

Was thinking thre same thing . The main issue with making it into a brat is the minimal clearance from the seat end over the tire. Because of this 2 up looks improbable but I'm still trying to figure it out.

I just got a 2013 TUX 2 weeks ago. I'm not a beginner (I have a couple of liter bikes already), but just love classic looking bikes. I subbed. On your Emgo muffler, do you have a removable baffle (aka decibel killer)? I think mine is an Emgo (not yet installed), but I can see right through it - seems to be too much air flow. Thanks!

Did you consider a baffelectomy? A steel rod and punching out the stock baffles? My wife and I are really looking closely at the TU for her bike (she rode a VStar 650 13 years ago, sold when our son was born. For a light and relatively inexpensive day bike the TU, from what I have found, is just idea. Looking forward to winging along with that braid sticking out of the helmet again soon! Enjoying you vlog Joy!
@JoyonaBike
@JoyonaBike 4 года назад
No, I didn't consider a baffelectomy. I wasn't a huge fan of the stock look so didn't mind going for something different (and the weight savings was nice for me, too). All the best with the search for a bike for your wife!

Test rode a few Triumph's and while they're great, I think the TU250x is the perfect city commuter for me. I have a soft spot for low displacement, light and flickable bikes so I'll keep an eye out for this Suzuki! Ride safe ✌️
@sscbkr48
@sscbkr48 2 года назад
The tux really is a good looking retro classic. I have a 650 interceptor and an adv but it's the tu that gets endless attention as a minimalist runnabout or stock. Being black, w/o the passenger seat it looks like a Bonney. The stripped down look has both fenders removed. A black aluminum carrier trimmed in honey stained yellow cedar strips is bolted to the rear outrigger. Takes about an hour to go from stock to brat. I kept the stock saddle and exhaust. Out of the 3 bikes it's by far the coolest looking imo. Now if only it had more power and was a little taller.. 😄

I think Suzuki don’t make huge batches of this model (not sure how supply is like in the US), but here in the UK I’ve recently been looking around and they don’t seem to be as readily available (even second hand) as some other bikes. I wonder if that’s because this is quite a niche bike - I.e low displacement aimed for the new rider (like me lol) or those that enjoy the fun of small engined bikes for their ‘flick ability’ and of course the looks. Growing up in the 1970s/1980s this reminds me of certain bikes from that era 😍
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 2 года назад
@@friktionrc That’s spot on with what I’m seeing in North America. There’s one but it’s super over priced. I also wish it had disc brakes in the rear lol
@friktionrc
@friktionrc 2 года назад
@@RideYEG mate I soooo agree re the rear breaks…I mean come on, I get it’s not a fast MotoGP bike but why leave that off? Also what’s with not putting on a fuel gauge? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ If this bike is aimed at newbies, (based on its size, engine capacity, speed etc) why on earth would they leave out a gauge to show how much fuel you have left lol…what are us newbies supposed to do, use telepathy? 🤦‍♂️🤣
@RideYEG
@RideYEG 2 года назад
@@friktionrc Agreed. I feel like Suzuki is a bit slower to adapt than other brands (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki) because those other brands have evolved their small cc bikes. If Suzuki had modern features with the look of the TU it would sell heavily

I liked the way the Emgo muffler sounded on the RE. Did you simply swap those out for the stock mufflers without any loss of power of fuel efficiency? or did you need to make other adjustments?
@JoyonaBike
@JoyonaBike 4 года назад
Thanks, I like the sound of it too. No other adjustments were made and haven't noticed a loss of power. Not sure I can speak to fuel efficiency just because up until that point wasn't tracking it 100%.
@ramonjrusa

Nice. I’m curious after the exhaust modification, did you balance it out with a fuel map (if f.i.) or bigger jets (carb)? If not, did you feel any loss of low end torque? Thanks

No fuel map or bigger jets. If there was any loss of power or torque after the swap, I didn't notice it. Thanks for watching!
@J2I3H
@J2I3H 4 года назад
They will definately run lean when you change out the stock pipe. Always up your main jet so it will not overheat under heavy load. I had 3 gn 250's and I have a modified gz250 all with the same engine.. a podfilter is an even bigger reason to change the jetting, but you will get some noticable powergains if you combine the two.

It honestly does sound a lot bigger than the exhaust on my stock TU250X. How do you find the single seat for long trips? I bought my TU new last year so she's completely stock, I can't stand the factory seat
@JoyonaBike
@JoyonaBike 4 года назад
The longest trip I’ve been on with this bike was maybe up to an hour, so not too long. It does fine for me though. I haven’t had any comfort issues and I like the fact that it’s a bit narrower than the stock seat. Thanks for watching!

I've been playing around with the thoughts of buying an emgo muffler but have read a lot about people struggling with the inlet size, as the adapters don't go all the way down to the 1.25" of the TU... any chance you could share how you/the shop managed to deal with this issue? I'd love to join the Emgo crowd and it sounds fabulous and affordable but I'm not looking to mess with something that I don't have a solution for...

Sorry Joy, but I don't care for the new exhaust sound. I went back to your Totcho video to contrast the two sounds, and the previous muffler seems to fit the bike's personality better. Don't like the black finish either. Nonetheless, personal modification is a choice we all make for ourselves, so if you are pleased, that is nice. Hope your weekend continues cheerfully.
@JoyonaBike
@JoyonaBike 4 года назад
This is actually the same exhaust that I had in the Totchos video. I’ve had this muffler on the bike for a few years now. Maybe it sounds different here because I have the camera up close and personal with the muffler? That’s what’s so cool about bike mods is that you can make them your own. As far as chrome goes, I do love that look too! Thanks for watching.
