I had a 2008 XB12scg that I sold in 2019. I missed it so much that I had to buy another one in 2024. This one is a 2007 XB12scg almost stock and it's just as much fun as my first one. I'm five foot six and it fits me perfectly. I'll never sell this one.
I'm looking for a bike, because my Honda Shadow is just a bit much for me! And like you said, the honda feels like it has more control over me, than I do over IT. Which makes me nervous. I'm trying to boost my confidence, and I rode this bike for a motorcycle beginner course, and it was SO EASY. Thanks for sharing this video and it's still helpful 4 years later :). Pretty much sold me on buying this bike lol
Fellow GT 650 owner - I purchased the same side mount license plate bracket from Dime City but the mounting hole was much larger in diameter than the actual axle nut....how were you able to correct this? It looks like you have a custom nut adapter on the axle nut.
Hi, i have got the 2024 year model and the latest led bar end lights from motogadget and the motogadget relay , the flasher relay comes with just a single red and then a black wire not sure how to use it any references ?
We didn’t use the Motogadget relay, so not sure and don’t want to give you the wrong advice. We ended up buying a relay from Amazon ($10 or less) and replaced the stock relay with it, and it’s been working just fine.
I went on a 5000 mile road trip and saw the first gp race back in the united states after 23 years at laguna seca in 86 it was awesome should have brought more fluids but i still got lots of pics at the cork screw corner 9 an 10
The bike sounds great!! I'm looking at getting an Emgo exhaust, iIwas just wondering is the one you have the 19" one or 17" there seem to be a few different options.
Ray D owner of a hero blue, 2009 600 mile never down, scg 1200 lighting, and she is, my arm candy, feels my love, and she don't let's me down, Lord can I have a girl friend like that.??
This was scary at first. I thought you might drop it. You are 5'9"ish? I have an 08' 1125r and an 07' firebolt xb9r that I put the scg forks, tripple tree, and monoshock on. The difference in height makes the firebolt much more comfortable to ride. Glad I saw this video today it made me smile to see fellow buellers.
Im totally with you on riding in cold weather, having gone past my 30's any temps below 50 degrees just aint where I wanna be on two wheels and I used to ride when it was basically freezing out. Did hit black ice once on a highway off ramp on my current Yamaha Stryker but the event didnt register until I was punching in for work, thank God it was just the rear stepping out a tiny bit but it gripped right after the baby fishtail. Breathing that cold air on a ride just aint in me like it used to be. My first motorcycle was an 06' Kymco Venox 250cc which is basically a Taiwanese Honda Rebel and damn it was the most fun sh*t ever then I thought I was ready to "upgrade" to a bigger machine only six months in... Long story gets longer here lol, so Im on my current Yamaha Stryker and found that I was just terrible AF at low speed turns , u turns and turns from a stop I was almost gonna quit. Then I clicked on a RideLikeAPro video and they talked about rear brake control, and that literally unlocked a new interest in riding motorcycles and thank God I found it. Well thanks again for the video, have a blessed weekend and hope you ride alot and ride safe. New subscriber here, I got some youtube videos but its been at least a year since Ive put up new stuff.
i miss having ridonkulous mpg and mid foot controls on a motorcycle, these tu250x's were what we rode at motorcycle school and I thought they were fast at the time
I have tuned zx12 and buell 1225rc. I love kawasaki for speed. But to 120 km per hour buell kicks ass kawasaki. And in cornners buell is better than every 600 But powerslide is easy to make and is scary as fuck.
Good to see a novice female biker do some diy mod work, well done! I have a question for the Buell owners world, I'm considering buying a Buell but here in the UK it is difficult to find a good one as they weren't sold in large numbers here. So, I've found a really nice XB12SCG 25th anniversary, and it's not too far away. Before I go any further with it though, as it's the lower version, would it be ok for a taller rider, I'm just over 6ft? And one more question, are there any known serious issues with the motor and trans that I need to look for? Thanks.
Get heated grips, recommend Oxford. The blood in your hands is heated and the heat is circuated throughout your body. They require 4 watts for for both grips. Ed March had them on his Honda 90 going thru Canada in the winter. Your TUx can handle them.
My first bike was a bandit 400 that probably weighed about 350 pounds. My second bike was 145 hp modified Ninja ZX9. It was much easier to ride. And a big heavy Harley with a low seat height was the easiest to ride.
