Fingers crossed! The ones at our pond have hatched..7 cygnets! But the pen seems to be all on her own .. atvb Bounda!

Yes Mark, no doubt about it, she invests so much time and attention to the eggs and the vulnerable little lives held within them. Both parents will keep up their diligence when the little ones break out, but even so it's all too easy for predators to sneak in and eat them. I will try to get back to this spot in the next week or so and be keeping my fingers crossed that the full nest/brood is intact.
