Night sweats in recovery are a very common phenomenon. There are a number of factors that can lead to sweating during sleeping in recovery, but also during an active eating disorder.
Something we don't talk about as often is the altered body temperature in general during and after recovery. Many people experience excessive swearing during the day which makes them feel uncomfortable and ashamed. Here's why this happens and why sweating is a good sign!

Me too! He truly made me feel good about myself and was one of the only doctors that seemed to understand recovery. Say hi to him 😂

Thank you so much 🥹 It means more than you know! Tbh, the first summer was hard, because I also had a lot of swelling and water retention. I tried to wear wide and airy clothes and to allow myself many breaks. If you feel comfortable, being close to the water is always helpful, but it can be challenging. Try to be gentle with yourself and remind yourself, that your body is healing and is going what it's supposed to do. For me, cold footbaths, resting and drinking tons of water were key. And ice cream is always helpful of course 😂🍦🍦🍨

I've got dysautonomia, so even in 'normal' times (not sure when that has been...), I am hypersensitive to heat when I'm in temps over 65 degrees, though I also go through periods of being very cold (more when I'm at home). Cooling vests make it possible for me to get to appointments. My favorite brand is Glacier-Tek. They aren't cheap, but they are well made, have non-toxic ingredients that SHOULD be OK with the TSA at airports, and the company stands behind their products. :)
