I like you and your reactions but that was the WORST timing of any Pause in RU-vid history. lol If you need to pause thru' Copyright(though few have on this song) then NOT on that epic final guitar solo as that desecrates and makes a mockery of the emotion and momentum and flow that was reaching a climax, my friend. South East London.
i grew up with his sound, and with every significant milestone in my live, Gary was there with an appropriate song. When he died.. i died a little inside too
It doesn't get any better than this! Probably the greatest blues guitar player...... EVER! The history behind his Les Paul guitar is very interesting. It might be the most valued electric guitar in existence. Worth reading about.
If I had to say who is the best imo for blues as much as Gary Moore is stellar performer no doubt the honor of greatest has to be SRV more ability than all of them put together.
When the world lost Gary Moore… we lost one of THE GREATEST GUITARISTS EVER! The guy is a Rock Legend!! From Thin Lizzy to his solo career… Gary set that bar sooo high with each song he wrote. Listening to this again brought a tear to my eye and for me… this was Gary at his finest! RIP Gary Moore 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
People, don't forget that this is live, people forget how good his voice where. Check out this to: bb king gary moore the thrill is gone live Gary Moore W Albert King - Stormy Monday (Live) Gary Moore - Empty Rooms (HQ). Live in Stockholm 1987 (best version)
I agree Stefan!! And what do you think about "Red House" HD and "The messiah will come again," live version?? Really fantastic, so so Gold,👍🎸- Rip Gary, thank you for your music❤️🇮🇹
There are good guitarists. There are great guitarists. There are guitar legends. But above them all... Was Gary Moore. The Lord of the Strings. We shall not see hjs like again. Gary died. But the blues he left us. Is eternal. Thank you.
17 years old working as a weekend DJ on a local radio station. I found out the "monitors" (speakers) in the studio could be cranked up much louder when in "audition" mode. One Saturday I'm playing a network broadcast of a Detroit Lions game or something and I put the 45 of this song on and cranked it the EFF up! Grooving the hell out of it when the station manager came in and stared at me in disbelief at the volume I was cranking! "Hi Dick!" I said. (he was aptly named.) Always good to see people like you discover great music!
My favorite player all my life since I first discovered him in my teens, late 70’s. Saw him live 3 times. I was gutted when died, brilliant along with Peter green, Rory Gallagher & Stevie Ray Vaughan. Nobody beats Gary, best ever.
The first time I heard this song I was driving and it came over the radio - I had to pull over. You know, can't drive while you're intoxicated and this song hammered me to my bones. Sweet Willy Jesus, great reaction Adogg.
Same with me when I first heard it. If you ever had someone you were in love with tell you it was over, that solo evokes every part of that breakup--the shocked disbelief, the tearful begging, the anger, the eventual acceptance, all those things I went through 20 years before.
I was lucky enough to see him with Greg live back in the day, and it was my very first concert. My jaw hit the floor when they opened with Fanfare For The Common Man.
Gary Moore had this extraordinary gift of making emotions pour out of his guitar. On top of his extremely high technical skills, of course. I am blown away still by this performance - and I have watched it countless times.
Thank you SOOOOO much for reviewing this! Gary was one of the best guitarists to ever pick up the instrument and was criminally under-exposed. Since his untimely passing in 2011, he has gained much more notoriety. Thank you again for turning the uninitiated onto this magnificent musician.
It still gives me chills when I hear this song. Though I have heard it thousands of times. I still remember hearing it for the first time. I was driving and had to pull my car over just to crank it and lose myself. Blues genius!
Gary was always admired for his guitaring but few outside of his fan base reconised his ability to sing, along with dave gilmour hes my favourite guitarist of all time
Only a Fool Will Never Learn, is a little known live performance, by him, but his guitar work on it is out of this world, and all his covers of Hendrix songs are also majestic
All guitar..."The Messiah Will Come Again " live is a must see. With vocals ..."Red House" live There's a video of him and B.B. King doing "The Thrill Is Gone" together that is excellent also.
Saw him live at 2 concerts in Denmark 1990...first at a festival..and a week later at a place called "the nikkel".....last one with 130.000 spectators. That was a summer I will never forget 🙂 Divine inspiration
Yes Gary Moore was born with a guitar in his arms, what a pity that he passed away much to early in life, RIP. The next generation is here already and so is Joe Bonamassa who is a wizard on a guitar. Worthwhile listening to !!!
You should check out the 50th Anniversary of the Fender Strat concert where Gary Moore plays Fire by Jimi Hendrix. He blows the doors off all the other players that night!!
“Red house” fender’s 50th anniversary “Hey Joe” live And his absolute MASTERPIECE “The Messiah Will Come Again” Every live performance of Gary Moore is a guitar clinic of master class technique
Yeah Gary was a very serious player He actually left Thin Lizzy because of too much partying and wouldn’t take the Ozzy guitarist job for the same reason. But he did help convince Randy Rhodes to take it. A master of those beautiful solos and a good singer too.
I’m going to subscribe after seeing you’re reactions. You’re going down the rabbit hole of some of the most melodic, blues, and just guitar gods that make guitars sing. Please keep reacting and enjoy the journey. We will keep supplying the songs, and you just keep listening and be true to yourself with the reactions!
You should definitely hear his tribute to Phil Lynott, especially Roisin Dubh. That's irish gaelic for Black Rose, which is a nickname for Ireland. It's pronounced row sheen doov and it's about all the wonderful legends of Ireland...great guitar duo with Scott Gorham. xo
This is probably his best song and my personal favorite, but some recommendations: - The prophet - Parisienne walkways - The thrill is gone (B.B. King feat. Gary Moore live), fantastic - One day Cheers ✌🏼🇲🇽
In his early days he didn't play the blues, but shredded the guitar as lead guitarist in Thin Lizzy might want to check out some of their music they absolutely jammed back in the day.
He did play the blues. They were his roots He played with Skid Row, Lizzy and Collesium plus his solo career.. all of which you can hear his blues influences . During the After The War tour he became very unhappy playing the rock/ hard rock and embraced his main influences… hence Still Got The Blues & After Hours records. Two masterpiece albums regardless of genre. Sure Gary was influenced by Clapton, Page, Hendrix, Kossoff and the black blues artists and he returned to all of it.
Yo! Thanks for this. And thank you for bringing the most talented guitarist the world have even seen out to the masses. Seen Gary lots of times live. He always gave 100 pst, and then some. If you want to see hin at the top of his game, go for the instrumental live version of "The Messiah will come again" from Montreux. If you want his singing and a guitarsolo that just pouring emotion, go for the live version of "Empty rooms" from Stockholm Sweden 1987. That might be my favourite solo of his. Gives med goosebumps. All the best from Norway. M
Congratulations! You've found another one of the absolutely epic live performances of all time! Always loved those guys that could just wring so much emotion out of a,guitar (Gilmour). Damn we had it good back in the day! Still many more to go; looking forward to enjoying them with you.
This is just a great video -- Gary at his finest. He (along with SRV, Jeff Healey & Joe Bonamassa) is among the best blues guitarists and vocalists of a generation (or two). He was just expert in his vocals and playing on this video. And what a great showman -- easily allowing the guitar to flow from him directly to our hearts. RIP Gary. Your fans still love and miss you.
I love Gary Moore ...And I Love your reaction aswell..You know the sound of great guitar playing..It doesn't get much better than that..Jeff Healey Tore Down is worth a listen ✨
RIP Mr G Moore.. Went to see him 2 months before he died and he did a blues guitar solo for 15 mins and a 12 min version of this very song, WILL STAY WITH ME until I die!
Peter Green, a founder member of Fleetwood Mac was one of the great British Blues guitar players that sprang onto the music scene in the 1960's. He gifted a guitar to Gary Moore who went on to record an album called Blues for Greenie. On this, Gary plays Peter's music and brings a new life to it. It is a homage from one player to another - the very best of the best and well worth listening to. The playing is so clean and crisp and has so much power and soul.
But he couldn’t hold a candle to the late great Garry Moore, then nobody could to be honest - jimi Hendrix a distorted noise, can’t compare to Gary’s technical ability
Gary Moore - Victims of the Future, End Of The World, Shapes Of Things....If you can find this DVD ... GRAB IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Gary Moore With The Midnight Blues Band - An Evening Of The Blues (1990)Live at Hammersmith Odeon, featuring Albert King and Albert Collins".
