The town reports that an 18-year-old from Columbus, Ohio died after being pulled from the ocean this afternoon. Just before 3 P.M. police, and fire and rescue were called to the Gull Street Public Beach for three swimmers in distress. Two returned to shore, one with help from a lifeguard. Nags Head police deployed a drone to find the third swimmer. He was brought to shore and taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead.
