This is pop sophistication of the highest order. The arrangers and instrumentalists were not pulling back their chops. Corinne is elegant and mesmerizing.
She looks like a model from a '60s or '70s catalogue, but also possibly from a 20s one that got colorized. One wonders what that would have looked like in concert.
The lovely Corinne Drewery looking unbelievably cool and elegant in her cloche hat and bomber jacket driving a Bristol 405 Convertible near the sleepy Somerset Village of Holford Combe south of Bristol on a sunny day singing one of the best ballads ever recorded! Wow! If that doesn't make your heart bite strong then nothing will. Wish she'd asked this Somerset lad for directions lol
As someone of a certain age this song & her Delivery reminds me of the sound I loved as a child with Dionne Warwick and Burt Bacharach! I can imagine her singing this way back when!
@@arabianongpinoy Im glad to see someone's eyes are open. As much as I love his music this is not a women, but I know this is a fucking guy.once my eyes were open I can't un see this crooked crazy ass world for what It is. 95 percent of these famous women are not women at all but they are men and that's a fact, from judy garland to Shirley temple to Marilyn Monroe all men stop lusting over these celebrities they are men sorry. Edit .....but I'm about to finish listening to her songs cuss this guy can make some beautiful fucking music lol
As an Australian Swing Out Sister fan I do know one reason why Swing Out Sister have never been huge worldwide(and it's not because of their music. That's world class). They haven't bothered to even attempt to access some markets such as Australia. As far as I know, apart from their first single, Breakout, Swing Out Sister have never bothered with Australia. I for one would be at the front of the queue for tickets if they ever toured Australia(and I would not be alone there) but I am resigned to the fact that I will never see Swing Out Sister live, other than on audio/video recordings, unless I pay a lot of money and travel to another country(and all of the above also completely applies to my other favourites Level 42).
Agreed. If it wasn’t for RU-vid I wouldn’t have known they were still making music. They should’ve been way bigger here in the US. They are an awesome band!
I enjoyed this song so much. I heard it many years ago. I can relate. It was at a time I lost someone whom I care deeply for. Now years later I am still heartbroken. I listen to this song. It's beautiful.
I totally agree with that thought. If you haven't checked out Lisa Stansfield's video of Change, do so you'll be in awe! Also I love SOS Am I The Same Girl, my favourite but love anything she sings, what a classy voice.
I love Swing Out Sister. They produce music of such high quality which is a rare thing these days. Their videos are wonderful, I could watch and listen to them for hours and hours.
Nights don't come any longer Days seem to last forever Nothing you can do Could bring him back to you Forever blue Trying hard to force a smile behind your tears Though you try these memories won't disappear Your heart's still beating out of time Nights don't come any longer Days seem to last forever Nothing you can do Could bring him back to you Forever blue Memories don't come stronger Dreams lost and gone forever Softly whispering Won't bring him back to you Forever blue Close your eyes but you still see, though love is blind Though you try just can't leave the past behind He's on your mind You'll forget him Like he forgot you Nothing you could do Could bring him back to you You'll be forever blue Nights don't come any longer Days seem to last forever Nothing you can do Could bring him back to you Forever blue Memories don't come stronger Dreams lost and gone forever Softly whispering Won't bring him back to you Forever blue
I always remember this song; In '89, ACID HOUSE was all the rage...me and my girlfriend has just finished coming back from SUNRISE dance festival in a field somewhere...and my girl put this on to cool us down after that fantastic rave...miss you STILL darlin'..
I can't believe I only heard this 3 times before, not knowing the title and then now suddenly pops in my head, searched on RU-vid and found it! This is an absolute gem!
That was one of the most beautiful videos I’ve ever seen. Watched it a second time and the lyrics got me this time. I cried even harder. That’s enough of this for a day. This is a Masterpiece, to me.
Such a beautifully nostalgic yet sad song about lost love and the remorse and regret involved in realizing that this loss is not easily forgotten and must be grieved before one can move on with their life.
This is my second favourite S.O.S song after Am I The Same Girl. They're both beautiful and timeless songs that I still love playing. Corinne's voice is just divine, I have the LP with these songs & the hit Breakout.
In 1986 is when I first fell in love with Corrine with SWINGOUT SISTER’s debut: It’s better to travel! Big fan ever since she mesmerizes me with her beautiful vocals and knock out looks! ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😘😘😘💋💋💋🥰🥰🥰 By the time: Am I The Same Girl came out In 1992 I had just graduated college with my bachelors degree and moved to California to start my masters degree at UCLA…time flies!
Andy, I love you! Corinne so lovely ! 1990, Munich at the army , confused and dislocated - now I know all was ok and fine ; but back then only your music gave me hope and confidence - thank you so much for being a part of bringing me through that difficult times ❤
I was 25 years old. At that time, I had the best love for my life. She was 22 years old. I remember this song was always playing when I drove along the coast with her. Her beautiful profile and the blueness of the sea I can't forget now.
I was watching her sunset over the Sea of Japan I can't forget the day I kissed. This song was always flowing, I saw her smile, angry face, her tearful face, and her beautiful face with her eyes closed and listening to this song.
I think I miss the Corinne's blue eyes, the blue sweater worn by the characters in the PV, and the blue of the sea. When I was listening to this song, I never forgot the beauty she was dating.
Nupe/TSU Alpha Theta/ 2 86. I simply can’t understand why this band was not huge?!, excellent lyrics from Ms. Drewery and production, awesome track!!!👌🏿
That right there is the voice of an angel! This song never gets old. This version and the instrumental version are staples of my quality time listening to Hi-Fi in my dedicated room. The orchestral arrangements make it perfect. I wouldn't change anything if I could. Thank you Corrine and Andy for the pleasure you've brought me over the years!!
Grew up listening to Casey Kasem. Inspired me to rank my own All-time Favorite Songs #1 Forever Blue #43 Precious Words #87 You On My Mind all from Kaleidoscope World. The only artist on my Top 100 with 3 songs!
Elegance and a heavenly voice combine to entertain us as we listen to the world of music this songsters from Britain reminds us of that nations gift to us Ft formerly of Lancashire England
The black and white highlights the stark melancholy of this video. Corinne looks like a beautiful, lonely mermaid in the sand on the shore. Heartbreaking to watch with an equally sad storyline. Beautiful
They were supposed to play here in Davao City, Philippines last April 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled their tour. So sad. That concert would have been one of the greatest joy of my life.
This is such an outstanding throwback to late 60's-early 70's Northern Soul and Carolina Beach Music. The song could very easily have been a product of the Pre-Disco "Philly Sound" of producers Gamble and Huff...think the early 70's hits from The Stylistics. In fact, I can very easily imagine Russell Tompkins, Jr. (lead vocalist for the Stylistics) singing this song. This could very easily also be a Delfonics song from that era. No autotune, no synth hand claps and finger snaps, no orgasmic moans substituting for lyrics, no dressing up like a hooker and skanking around. Corinne's material is 100% a result of her talent, and 0% computer wizardry. In other words, everything that Beyonce, Ariana Grande, and Cardi B aren't. And that includes talented.
I remember seeing my dad’s cassette tape of SwingOutSister and I ‘ve always thought how she’s so stylish and classy. I grew up hearing their songs especially when my dad comes back from work ... ahhhhh memories
