This game sucks so bad. The combat system is so stiff, the performance is atrocious. I wish games like YS are given the budget that these mediocre games are getting.
You're not mentioning the horrendous performance / frame rate? To everyone, stay away from the game until it's patched. It clearly needs a lot of optimization.
This is exactly what I was wondering about. I heard that it might run decently on a monster PC but I just want it on console so I was wondering how bad the frame rate is.
@@SerpentsFang27 From what I have read online, it even runs kinda terrible on the PS4 Pro. Not as much as on the regular PS4. But still terrible. I recommend you to wait and keep checking the reviews online. Once a major patch releases that fixes the frame rate issues, you're good to go.
Fang27 I have it on Xbox. While the frames aren’t amazing, anywhere near it, I don’t think it’s unplayable.. I’ve been having fun. That doesn’t mean I don’t think they need to put a patch asap
I love the Anime, but I never liked any of the games. I've grown tired of low-quality anime games since Attack on Titan 1. The worst part about it is, most Anime video game licenses are owned by Bandai Namco, so we're bound to see more of these types of games.

That’s probably the worst of it. Not sure how different PS4 and Xbox versions are. Fps improves, but load times are long. If you’ve seen the anime, I’d say skip all the story except for Medina’s route. You clear chapter one around level 20 and that’s when the real game starts.

I just refunded my pc version because of it. My system should be well equipped to deal with the game, but even on the lowest quality settings I can't get more than 20fps. My GPU usage is just stuck at 100% for no reason, and turning the camera and fighting literally throws me below 10%. Playing 20 levels in an area with such attroxious performance issues is an absolute no-go. At first I thought it's a pc porting issue, but apparently console players have the same issues. What a mess of a game..

Fatal Bullet was the only SAO game I ever played that I enjoyed played nearly every SAO game I have ever played was so clunky and bad I never played more than 2 hours.
fatal bullet is a generic attempt from that freedom wars game on the ps vita. while it is slightly better than the previous instalments but I still found it to be quite mediocre
I fully understand peoples frustration with the game but get past the first chapter, its heavily story based. I think this is because instead of taking the theme of the SAO anime and mangas and starting with a fully new and original story this game takes what Alicization was and build on that completely changing the ending after Kirito beats Quinella. Due to this the game went the direction of gameplay being in line with the story so new weapons, armor, and other things are unavailable until you get to the point where the original story is pretty much 100% original. I promise the game is amazing after chapter 1. Hollow Realization being the best SAO game so far by popular opinion chapter 2 of Lycoris feels like Realization but on crack. Its amazing!
Bandai does something with this game ... I play on ps4 and the frame rate is horrible in forests and cities 10 fps to 20 fps and that was embarrassed by the company
For real... I've beaten this game, I have a few things to say about it too. First of all, this is easily the worst review for this game I've ever seen. Literally zero talk on the game besides story based elements. Is the insane optimization issues not a problem? The countless bugs? the hundreds to thousands of oversights that any gamer would notice almost instantly? Even if you were to judge this game SOLELY upon story based content, I would rate it 1/10. The story is so bad, in fact, that the terribly un-optimized combat / gameplay brings it up to a 3/10 for me. If Bandai fixed every single problem that I have with this game, I would rate it a 7-8/10. There are so many things (calamity plants being high on the list) that I can't believe made it to a finalized version of this game. It's hard to find the words to appropriately or adequately explain the hot trash that this is. That being said, it's not like there aren't things this game DOES do well. The combat and skill system is actually pretty well made, when you can look past terrible auto-camera issues and fps drops. I DID have fun playing through a bit of this game, but is it worth $60? And with an additional $45 for DLC that isn't out yet, holy fuck I cannot recommend that anyone buy this game until it's on sale AND has been fixed, thoroughly.
It might be the best looking SAO Game of them all but... it still looks dated to most current Generation Games and the Enviroments don't have a Anime Art Style to them like the Characters, it looks really weird.
so i know absolutely nothing about SAO except for characters. fatal bullet was alright imo but i got it on sale and didnt feel it was a AAA title worthy of $60. is this the same way?
An 8? Thats surprising given just what I have seen in the video. It looks and runs horribly, I played Fatal Bullet on PC and it easily looked a lot better then this mess. The combat looks flashy but even justs from watching it feels like there is a delay or some wierd frame/animation skipping. I have no clue about the story since I dont watch the anime, so thats something im willing to be surprised at, glad to hear they once again go a different route form the official plot tho :) Also, question, I saw you fight as an OC, I assume thats one of the things you unlock later on right? I dont like to play as Kirito, but it seems its only visual right? Its not like in FB is it? I liked that entry the most because we played as ourselfs :(
Does anyone think that people are being a little too fucking forgiving of Bandai, it is fucking 2020 and look at the JRPG games they’re releasing are shitty, the arena fighters just to cash in on fandom.
You’ll be grinding if you want the better weapons since they require materials. There are still dungeons, but they’re more like caves. Not the 50 floors that the series is known for.
There basically are no dungeons. There's technically 3 or so, but you are in the dungeon(s) for less than 10 minutes each time. 90% of the game is spent outside, the other 10% is inside BUT 90% of that 10% is cutscenes and dialogue. I know this because I've beaten the game and explored everywhere in-game.
Fatal bullet took some steps in the right direction but it was still really rough around the edges. I hope one day we get something better in that style.

Because they barely put any effort into these games? Now let's take a look at a free anime game that came out not too long ago and for FREE. Genshin Impact, not only are the Japanese voice actors popular and really good, the English dub is really good. I wonder how a game like that ended up blowing away most of these other trash anime titles.
Its funny how bad this game. From blurry textures, loading times, performance issues, ANNOYING CAMERA, bad combat mechanics ( same button for parry / block ), dodging is bloody annoying character stay glued and commited after every attack so everything feels clunky rather than fluid. TUTORIALS TUTORIALS TUTORIALS.... PRIVACY POLICY that you have to agree and bloody DATA COLLECTION ( for analysis ? just f off Namco )... anti cheat + denouvo.... And a little cherry on top they charge 49.99 + SAO shop ( miscrotransactions ). There is another game that will realease on PS4 that is GRANBLUE FANTASY RE LINK that looks and plays way better
A friend passed me the game from game share. It’s really really bad. You have to play like 20 hours just to get online access. Also the battles are crap, you can hit the enemy 20 times with whichever attack you like and it still won’t cancel theirs out. Also the gameplay feels the same every single fight it’s boring This is the only review you need. It’s trash in every way
Great review! For the people that have fps issues in the beginning of the game, the game is still installing when you just started the game ( i play it on ps4 pro) after a while i closed the game and booted it up again and the fps issues where almost all gone. But the town in the beginning has still a little bit of fps issues. Played the game with the 1,01 patch on ps4. 3 hours in and im really enjoying the game. Same with some quests that dont show you where to go. I love that there isnt much handholding.
I've also had a couple of issues in the outskirts of Centuria but everything seems to fix itself fairly quickly (around the first 10 seconds after loading in then it fixes).
I've been playing this all day....the camera is trash regardless how you adjust it and the a.i omg they just stand there and do nothing 90% of the time...the fighting is ok most of the time ..the duels are complete garbage the enemy can just stand there with their back turned and you deal zero damage cause that's not how they want you to win......did I say the camera is trash? Gl dueling when you're near anything (trees, rocks, pillars, god forbid a wall) I wont shit on the story cause idk it I've skipped every single cutscene...the man this game needs a patch bad! Fix the camera fix the input lag and stuttering and dropped fps fix the (when you dodge sometimes you end up facing away attacking nothing) fix the targeting system, add a quick focus camera button somewhere so when camera gets confused you can quickly reset it behind you...fix the load times! Why is there a load screen almost every few steps?
The 13 dislikes are from the petty people who are imidiatley gonna hate it because it's under the SAO name and can't understand that other people can like things that they don't. Either way, amazing review! This game is definately the best so far in my opinion. My only real issue is the frame drops and some of the pop in that occurs. Great game from a great franchise with a great review 😂💜
Hey, that means a lot. People are definitely allowed their opinions lol but I think we made a good case for our score :) our issue mainly stemmed from the pop ins as well.
I dunno why some of you are having issues with the gameplay but I for one on PS4 Pro not having too many issues at all. Remeber a few things to help. One make sure you have some save space extra on your system and also clear your systems memory cache. Another thing will say make sure to keep your system clean. My PS4 Pro has been silent playing this game around. I admit some things need adusting but remeber game just came out give the devs time to patch and fix things up. Another note remeber not everyone is working in office either so that tends to slow some things down to real life issues going on.
I like the orignal stories of the previous games they were fun and gave me something different from the anime, hopfully strea and Philia are still here
For those seeking to get this on ps4, do it now as price might be bugged.. Deluxe 1 month edition for 70€, whereas on pc / steam atm 90€.. Just a heads up in case it changes :) Edit: dont know if its intended or not, but console games tend to be slightly more expensive, so a 20€ price differ where the console vers. Is cheaper is kinda weird Edit 2 : Price is now 110€ for deluxe edition.. Was indeed a mistake.
@@NoisyPixelNews for sure. Some standard physical copies in stores near me gets sold for almost the price of the deluxe edition in the ps store, like, 5€ cheaper... Seeing as the price of the premium pas is 40€ In the ps store, that would already be a big save.

For me this game was the disappointment of the year. I purchased the title on Steam (deluxe edition). My system meets the requirements but even on the lowest settings this game play with lower than 20 fps. It does for some unknown reason just eat my gpu (GTX 1080) alive, even in the title menu. Does anyone know how this game performs on a normal PS4 console? Maybe I'll get it for PS4, now that I learned that it's literally unplayable on pc for me. I can't even get more than 30 fps when turning it visually into a PSP game D:

I can play The Division 2 on ultra settings with constant 50fps, but I can't play this game on it's lowest graphic configuration with more than 20 :( I'm an IT guy so I tinkered a while with this game, but I couldn't even figure out why this game runs so poorly. It just immediatelly drives the graphics card to it's limit. It's reall weird, and frustrating. I took my day off due to the games release. I shouldn't have done that :'D But thanks for letting me know that you recorded this on the PS4! I thought you were using a PS4 pro. I think I get my hands on the PS4 version next week then. So the game itself looks fun for gameplay but regarding the story is my point. Does the story split off after defeating the admin btch or does it follow the original story? Depending on how the story goes i might get it bc seeing the same story over and over is boring.
Few questions. 1. Will the game summarize the previous arcs? ( The only arcs I watch was the 1st one, the Fairy one, the gun one, and I believe some fillers after that) 2. I heard you could customize the character after chapter 1. If so, how long does chapter one take? ( Not trying to rush the game just more intrested in playing as a custom character then the main character) 3. Can you save multiple character creations? 4. Can side quest be done any time or they have to be done on the chapter they appear on?
It summarizes the arcs you haven’t seen pretty much. Chapter 1 is about 10 hours mostly linear story telling. I’m not sure about saving multiple character designs. You can complete side quests whenever they aren’t absolutely needs but are anything from fighting, item collecting, or going somewhere.
Daniel Emberton The first chapter is filled with a lot of dialogue but based on the trailer the game gets really good later on like it goes into the underworld arc which I wasn't expecting, I thought it would end after the pontifex
The first chapter is so lengthy, I'm happy to hear it gets better, I got the game on pc and it runs pretty decent but some things can definitely be fixed

I belive this games was a flukes they mistakenly release to soon i know we been waiting for maybe a year but if giving more time the performance loading screen multiplayer self create a character will be better also fishing hunting sleeping eating just like real life in this game im still in chapter 1i know i miss alot i would really love if they put their back into graphic fun mini games life makes more meaningful

I have all of the precious 5 games but have not completed any. I've tried completing the first one before I play the others to play them in order but it is such a slog. I love the anime and have always wanted to love the games. Seems this might be the best one so far. Edit: from the other comments it doesn't seem as good. Maybe it is better to get on PC on a sale when you can brute force the fps into playable territory.
Fair warning if it’s not mentioned the end of the 1st chapter is like 5 hours or more of just dialog and 1 fight here and there that your locked into through the dialogs. So be mentally prepared for it lol
Playing on XB1 and the lag input is horrid, loading times are long, cutscenes that drag on and on, and constantly switching characters during combat because other wise they stand around more often than actually fighting. Jesus Fatal Bullet was better than this. Yeah I said it.
You are right if they don't fix it I'm a feel how felt bout actually buying Anthem and DW9 those are only games in my entire life I regret buying and I bought some pretty horrid games like Ultimate battle 22 on PS
