SWTOR Goes 3rd Party 

Currently there is only a letter of intent for this agreement to happen. Nothing has been signed, submitted, or actually legally agreed to. As of right now, claiming the game is going on maintenance mode or is dead holds no water. Because nothing has actually happened yet. And lots of things can happen. Both good and bad. In many respects taking SWTOR away from Bioware is a good thing. They have been a horrible developer across the board since Mass Effect 3's ending controversy. On the other hand Broadsword hasn't done anything really. However we know nothing about funding, resources, or allocations that Broadsword could be getting, or not, if they do indeed take over SWTOR. We do not know. And they may not like the hate that's more than likely coming their way and back out. Cuz at this stage they still can. And EA will have to look at other options. So for now chill guys. And you should be excited that EA wants to take SWTOR away from Bioware. And maybe this will get Bioware to no longer be an awful developer and actually allocate resources to its freaking games.

This hopefully will rejuvenate the game’s development and direction. Broadsword’s team is small, so it’s going to be interesting to see what they can do with a large-scale game such as swtor. There’s a lot of potential with the game, and I feel like as an mmo, there’s a lot to be desired. Sad to see the story-telling foundation of BioWare development will be gone, but I believe we’re going to start seeing some different takes on the game itself that people are desiring.

The player economy needs to be fixed more than anything, and I'm not confident this new small team can handle that.

I just want 6.0 back, gearing and set bonuses, companions unnerfed and Malgus a permanent comp so i can watch him solo each star fortress.

This seems like broadly good news. If the game wasn't profitable they would just shut it down rather than go through the pain of transferring it to another company.

any way you slice it, the news is not good, Broadsword has 2 games under it's belt and both are zombie versions of what they used to be. If SWTOR hopes to survive, major changes need to happen they made the gearing system unnecessarily harder with the latest patch, it was so much easier in the previous version. The end game grind simply isn't fun anymore and I've run Hammer Station(among others) hundreds of times and had a blast leveling up my gear. Guess I'm glad I stopped playing when I did...

Horrible news, the new company has no experience with stories, it's over, the game is official in life support.

Im working on my 3rd character i want to do all 8 does this mean i should hurry up and do them or take my time like ive been doing

We have been here before at least three times with EA and Bioware. 1. Shadow realms, 2. Anthem next, 3. Mass effect Andromeda Literally none of them worked out. Folks can be hopeful if you want to, but don't be surprised if The OG's just shake their heads.

People are saying this is good. I don't agree. From what I've heard the company getting the game has canned other projects they own. EA giving away a massive title such as Star Wars isn't a small thing either. The way I see it, they're washing their hands of it so they don't get the blame for closing it down or abandoning another Star Wars title. I really don't have high hopes. But I'll be happy if I'm wrong

as long as they remeber the main players 99%of us are solo and casuals and play for the story and fun

Swtor has one option left console the game asap otherwise it’s over
