Today's episode of reviewing the Sydney Trains fleet involves an analysis of a V set from a passenger point of view. These trains are soon to be replaced by the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) D sets so it would be remiss of me to not review them before they retire. These trains have been a valued treasure serving passengers in Sydney, The Central Coast, Newcastle, The Blue Mountains and at one point, Wollongong and the Illawarra. However, these trains are becoming old and unreliable so it is already time that these treasures of Sydney are to retire.

in tangars, on the contrary, there are clear ads, just they just turned down the sound so it wouldn't be so loud

This is a very nice review. I like how you covered a lot of the features the v set gives you. As you said this trains are a treasure to Sydney trains network.

by far the most comfortable trains in the whole fleet. unfortunate to know they're going to be replaced by another ripoff A set. Those D-sets will never give off the same luxurious vibe these trains do.

Agree - the fixed direction seating on the replacement trains is. real step backwards.

although i didnt like these trains at first (mainly cause i am part of new generation and like oscars) i can see why despite the v set's trademark bumpy acceleration, trash doors and no destination board or announcemnts, i can see why people enjoy it, because even sometimes id rather take a v set over other trains because its cosy (thanks to opening the 2nd door) the carpet, seating material and looks makes it feel cosy and comfy.

I get this train everyday since up here in Newcastle only v sets and Oscars take service, it’s quite sad this luxurious train is getting replaced by this ugly new d set train
