Workers' Party MP Sylvia Lim spoke in Parliament on Monday (Nov 28) in support of repealing Section 377A, the law criminalising gay sex in Singapore. She added that she would abstain from voting on the proposed new Bill to protect the definition of marriage from legal challenges. "To clarify, I am not advocating for gay marriages here. My concern is purely about whether it is justified to exclude judicial scrutiny on this topic. From a governance standpoint, I find this position very difficult to accept," Ms Lim said.
