Symphogear. The strong direction, the animation interwoven with stellar music, the character interactions, from ep4 of the first season, all the way to its conclusion in the fifth I remained thoroughly engaged. I was getting more from 4 episodes of this show than top anime would give with a whole season. It made me feel all sorts of emotions I don't ever feel. It wasn't perfect, but the shear value I got from the show far surpassed anything I'd seen. It can be said that watching this show is one of the most meaningful experiences I've ever had. Its MAGICAL. It also has a lot in common with another franchise I favor, the Senran Kagura games.
Symphogear did something magical, it literally "Create a history with a light gods does not know". From an unknown original series with only big seiyuu to its name to something many people don't know but will remain in many fans hearts. It creates a history with its fans without anyone knowing it even existed in the first place.
At this rate, I swear Hibiki is one of Asura from Asura's Wrath reincarnations, Fisting Gods and all. and Shem-ha is a peice of Chakravartin that survived the final fight and incarnated as a Custodian.
I found Symphogear from the Space Shuttle clip. It has carved out a very special place in my heart. While it isn't necessarily the "best" show I've ever seen, it is by far my favorite. It is just so much fun, I love the characters, the music, the action, and I am glad that it had a satisfying conclusion.
I really want an epilogue. Cause I really wanna see what happened to everyone post series. Also to know the final fate of the Symphogears, are they perma broken? Are they gonna be repaired? I wanna know dammit! If Symphogear does come back, like, a new series, I don't think that using the same cast would be the best idea since...God damn what else could you DO with this girls!? They already beat a fucking God, where do you go up from there? Beating a dimension eating Eldritch monster?
Mobile game exists. Continues the story. The Symphogears are not broken at all. Although it may have seemed like they were in the final battle against Shem-ha, this is false. Since June 28, 2020, Hibiki has proposed to Miku. Her answer to this proposal is not confirmed, but given the fact that they're now selling merch of the two in wedding outfits, I have a feeling the answer was yes. After beating God, they continue by plunging into alternate realities and saving those realities from the crises that burden them, along the way bringing a happy end to all of the friends that they had to see pass away. This so far includes a fully redeemed Finé and Ver, as well as Serena, Kanade, and every single other villain EXCEPT Adam and Tiki because literally who tf are they anyway? Because Kanade is now alive, Tsubasa's love life is more complicated. Maria was covertly trying to put the moves on her from seemingly the moment they met, and Kanade, is, well, Kanade. They were probably dating before the first episode of SZ. Now that both of them are being pretty aggressive towards her, it doesn't look like that front will get any closure any time soon. Miku is an adaptor now. She uses a Shenshoujing that was recovered from another dimension, and now fights alongside the others. Kirika and Shirabe are still themselves, if a bit more powerful. They have become even more attached to each other, which is both good and bad. I honestly wish we got to see them with other members of the cast (and without the other) more often, because it sometimes feels like they're two parts of the same character and I really care about each of them and want them to speak out about their feelings and shit. Yeah, I just said that about fictional characters. They also encounter some other, more unique universes, such as one in which Hibiki's school friends gain a Symphogear-like power called the Mechavaranus, wielding the "wrath of dragons" in order to bring justice to their world. This is just an example, there's a lot more of these. The Adaptors also join in a bunch of collaboration events, in which they fight alongside (or against) the likes of Godzilla, Ultraman, Nanoha Takamachi, the bands of BanG Dream, and more. All in all, they seem to be doing great. They've neared death a few times, as is customary, but love is in the air, and even the bonds of friendship grow deeper. I wish they animated this shit.
The fifth season of Symphogear was pretty good. When it comes to the Bible, what sadly even most Christians don't get is that what happened at Babel was reversed in Acts 2.
Man, I'm sitting in the truck with the earpiece doin bi crimes. Respect the game. Honestly though, this show hit me so fucking hard I'm reevaluating how I live my life and got stuck. Watching and appreciating Symphogear is to finally visualize the metaphysical chains that bind you, and find the means to break them in how you communicate. This show is _scary_ in how great it is. We won't see such visual and auditory love for years. But then again... the current show "86" is extremely good commentary, delivered at a crucial point in human history. We're gonna have to fight fascism again on a global scale. 86 sees that and responds _loudly._
I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls it "The Bibble". I'm glad this Instrumentality plot got punched the fuck out. I'm glad for Symphogear. (Introduced a friend during the pandemic and watched the three seasons I'd missed. Shit was so cash.)
Fuck I love Symphogear. Also thank God (Shem-Ha? Enki?) that I wasn't the only one picking up on that anti-nationalistic stuff. They never quite come out and say it, but especially since Fudo and the Kazanari have ties with Section 2 all the way back to WW2, it makes a lot of sense.
