This video shows the penetration simulation results of the T54 RHA armor when the 3BM-15 APFSDS hits it with the speed of 1785 m/s.
[ T-54 ]
From tanks-encyclopedia, The T-54 is a legend. It was used more extensively than any other Cold War or modern MBT to date. It was supplied to or produced by Warsaw Pact countries, forming the bulk of their forces during the 1960s-70s. Then it served with the allies in the Middle East (Egypt, Syria, Jordan) and numerous nations among the non-aligned and third world countries. A staggering 83,500 were produced, alongside the Polish and Czech versions (21,000 more). It was largely associated with colonial or independence wars all around the globe and is still one of the most common pieces of equipment of any armored force today. China copied the T-54 under the Type 59 designation and it was also largely distributed among Asiatic nations, notably North Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and North Korea.
[ 3BM-15 ]
Using a slightly longer projectile compared to the 3BM9, the 3BM15 round enhances penetration by having a tungsten-carbide slug embedded in the forward part of the projectile body, in turn protected by an armor-piercing cap. Proof against most NATO tanks until 1978, this round's shape and full caliber fins sap muzzle velocity and limit the 3BM15's effective range against its contemporaries to 1500m and below. Although removed from Soviet service in the mid-1970's, the 3BM15 remained the most advanced 125mm round available to client states until the end of the Soviet Union, and was produced under license - along with local derivatives - in several countries.

Subcore is made of tungsten carbide, not tungsten alloy. It is not eroding material, it should not 'dissapear'.

Thank you for your comment. Let me turn off the eroding option for the tungsten carbide in the next vids.

The first case is rare, the second is doubtful and the last case is like a fantasy. How about a scenario where the vertical angle is -5 to -20 deg, the horizontal angle is around 5 to 15 deg between the projectile and the top armour plate, and the speed is appropriate for a distance of 500-1500 meters which is a very likely situation in the real battlefield? The simulation accuracy validation is a good point for this video! Keep going!

If you are in a situation when the target tank is going up a little hill or an obstacle, then the exposed lower glacis and the angled upper one is not a fantasy, happened lots of times in tank battles

In the last case that driver has to be pressure washed out.

My grandad used to be commander of t54s(i guess) during caribbean crisis, he liked that tank

Second case- ??? 2000 m- projectile should go between 5 and 10 degr. (maybe more) down. Angle as in simulation is almost impossible- maybe during extremely short moment when tank go on top of a hill. Third case- tank's climbing on a top of the wall and show a bottom? Even ricochet will be at a flatter angle.

At this point i'm willing to bet this guy runs all these simulations because some War Thunder players got too pissed about a shell mysteriously bouncing when it should've penetrated.
