I used it in front so that I could demo the pedal in the video. However the looper in the Soulmate isn’t quite as functional as the Ditto… It will depend on your needs.
Have been seriously thinking of getting one of these to replace my current acoustic set up - many thanks for a great straightforward review with no bull $hit
@@aaronshortmusic Hi! Your videos are amazing. And you answer on every comments. People respect that! Tell me please, do you still have this pedal, and if yes do you use it?
@@antonio.lovric Hi! I sold it recently but only because I use a TC VL3x at my shows and needed to pay off some other gear that I am reviewing. It is an excellent multi effects unit for those that do not want to dive into menus.
@@aaronshortmusic yeah, I watched your shows and I didnt notice you use T-Rex. I have doubt about this unit and Boss AD-10. And Im more close to buy Boss. Do you have any advice? Thanks in advance 👍
@@antonio.lovric I think they are both good. Check the features and base it on that. For example the Boss seems to have digital controls and the T Rex is more analog. Also the Boss is smaller but then has less footswitches etc etc.
My only complaint is the EQ is the smallest part with the smallest knobs of the pedal board yet it is the most important part of ANY preamp. I like the way you add just a little keeping the acoustic tone, I would buy this hands down if the EQ was the main part. 🤷♂️
Excellent review Aaron & having the guitar on a loop in order that you can manipulate the various sections whilst talking through whats going on is fantastic. I agree with your idea that subtle enhancements to the natural sound of a good quality acoustic is best & that would be my first priority but the option is there to get creative to spice it up from time to time also so win win I would say! 👍👍👍 Once again, great work!👏👏👏
I have this one and it is really all in one tank. I used to have ditto x4 looper + boss dd500 delay etc.. the sound of the looper is better on ditto but nevermind, you can tune it and set it, just be patient. Aaron, what are the red and green buttons ? Where can I buy it ? Or is it DIY ?
oh sorry, u told about it , i found it. btw here are some too www.aliexpress.com/item/Electric-Guitar-Pedal-Foot-Nail-Cap-Shiny-Guitar-Effect-of-Foot-Head-Of-Nail-Aluminum-with/32907893545.html?spm=2114.search0604.3.1.7add7e02qqHdXL&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10065_10068_319_317_10696_10084_453_10924_454_10083_10618_10920_10921_10307_10922_10820_10821_10303_537_536_10059_10884_10887_100031_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_51,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=c0709c6d-48aa-4e10-b81a-189696b66887-0&algo_pvid=c0709c6d-48aa-4e10-b81a-189696b66887
Yeaaahhh....awesome. Was super interesed and now I'm totally convinced. There's one thing I wish, though,...that the DELAY button was right next to the BOOSTER. In that way it would be perfect to switch both for a solo with just 1 foot hit! (quick and nice). The REVERB switch in beetween them just kills me....buuut what can we do,...nothing is perfect - I'll have to tap twice :-(
Hey Arron thanks for your vids, ive seen all sorts of mouth-watering gear on your channel, but what do you personally use at a solo/duo gig? As much as i want to love Trex i can't help but feel it is way overpriced and over-exaggerated piece of kit, correct me if im wrong.
First real good video about this thing. Everybody else is just nerding off, trying to act funny and show of their fingerstyle playing...I mean ffs I want to hear someone play strumming and regular stuff. ALSO u are the first to mention the preamp and not talk about their dogs or what they should wear...good job
I'm glad I found your review of the Soulmate Acoustic. There are other excellent reviews that sadly have piezo quack that I feared was being injected by the T-Rex. Your guitar sounds like a Martin should so it was their guitars and not the pedal. Soulmate is an aptly named pedal. I'm getting one.
@@aaronshortmusic No problems, I'm running LR Baggs Lyrics in most of my guitars and a K&K Trinity in my newest so they all sound natural to start with. BTW, considering the location of the looper buttons, I think those switch toppers are a necessity to avoid stepping on the boost or tap.
Aaron, nice review. I may get a T Rex for Rumba Flamenco. Also, I really like your shoes! They seem to go well with jeans! Do you recall the shoe name? Thanks, Danny Murrieta Ca near San Diego..!
@@aaronshortmusic Hey man I finally got the Soulmate Acoustic. Love it. Exactly what I need. I'm nearly tempted to swap out the Delay part of it for the internals of my Boss Octave Pedal. Probably a bad idea haha. So I just wanted to know how do i clear the last loop. I don't wanna start all over again if i make a mistake .Thanks
