I really appreciate this. I have bought a few dumbphones, and, man, t9 has gotten WAY WORSE since the early 2000s. This is great for knowing how much of a headache or pleasure texting would be on a phone.
tip: to add a background picture on the external screen all you need to do is go to the "desktop", click on it, select wallpaper. Chose your image and click select for external display! It gives the cat a lot more personality
can you make a video about the best keyboard t9 for 3 click method? The prediction is great for english on the t9, but i speak portuguese, so it doesnt work.
New cat s22 user. My predictive text/t9 requires I press the top middle button to choose the word instead of just hitting the space bar so it slows me down. It looks like you’re just typing like normal though so now I’m wondering how to set up the t9 text properly?

Do you think the Old T9 app is safe to use? After I downloaded it from the app store and when I wanted to enable it, I got a screen that popped up that said it might collect your data. Can we safely use it it on our Cat? What do you think? Thanks for making these helpful videos!
Reviewers mentioned that the phone comes with a pending update. And on trying to update after a long download, it ends up getting stuck with error. And this update-error cycle goes on, making the phone completely unusable. Kindly inform if such update issue happened with you too. Is it in fact worth all this trouble?
Heya, thanks for the question, I have just gone in to my settings and I get the message: "Your device is up to date" I don't recall having any issues with the initial update on it either, so perhaps I was lucky, or they were unlucky!
I've managed to download the apps off the store and they all work to load, but I've not logged in, trying to get a device from HSBC so I can get in to my account on a new phone, once I've done that I will let you know!
I just got my CAT Flip and so far I love it, but I think I have to stick with the touchscreen for typing. I speak German and so far it doesn't seem to predict other languages than English.
Really enjoying the videos! I'm quite close to buying this phone. One thing I'd love to know: Can you use the WhatsApp "multi-device" feature? So, have WhatsApp logged in on both your normal smart phone and this at the same time? If so, then I'd use this phone on the weekend when I want to disconnect from tech for a bit. It would be great if you could do a video on that if possible. Thanks!
I’ve not tried it tbh. Being a 90s kid I’ve never trusted waterproof phones (all those ‘waterproof’ cameras I ruined back in the day! 😂) but I head away in October and can try to swim with it and report back?!
@@DumbphonesUK lol well yea that's true some time's when phone say they are waterproof they're not so I get what you mean I'm not a 90s kid so I don't have much experience with technology but i love the flip phone so much in fact I'm getting it today because I ordered one my self and thank you for making this awesome channel it made me want this phone even more because you did so well on testing thing's in fact you were the frist one to pop up on all my questions when i search it up 😂
Thanks v much! I've tested on Three, Vodafone and EE and they all worked as expected, so would assume that others all work too. Just make sure you get an unlocked device.
The only problem i face using T9 on this phone is when i need to key in passcode. where they only allow single press on the number button. so i had to go back to gboard.
Please do you know how to go from letters to numbers, I tried but I couldn't get it off the numbers yo use letters on the phone itself, not that t9 Thank you 😊
@@DumbphonesUK thanks. In the end I installed a t9 keyboard app from Google play store. I notice in settings there's a 12 key keyboard function. How does that compare to t9?
I just went into Google Play Store seeking the Garmin Connect app and no Garmin app showed up for this device as it did form my Google phone. What is your source? @@DumbphonesUK
