I discovered Tabac on RU-vid earlier this year. I just turned a young 61. I purchased both the EDC and EDT. I am in LOVE with the EDC Tabac! I want to have this in my arsenal for the rest of my life!! Great review! I used to wear Creed back in the early 2000s. But I really love this one. Now, I find it to have a bouquet of fragrance in the EDC: powdery, sultry, lavender, almost a bit of rose going on. I love the 1950s era as well. 1970s? Not so much. Lol!
I was expecting that...😀 EDIT: I have edc, edt, shaving soap and deo spray and after watching the review want to give my opinion on differences between edc and edt. Clearly i can see why people prefer the edc because it's smooth powdery, soapy, floral, musky, aldehydic, lovable scent. The edt is more harsh, barbershopy, herbal, slightly green, slightly aromatic and dies down to a tobacco scent. Imagine that edc is the CK One (floral musk soap) and the the edt is Paco Rabanne Pour Homme (tobacco soap)
brilliantly explained Chris ! Tabac is cult, even The Beatles wore it so I have read.. I prefer the EDC tough...Extremely good quality for its price.. The bottle was made after an Amfora and still the same...Yes, the fragrance has changed a little bit, but still faithful to the original...I still remember my father used it and I remember exactly how it smelled ..Vielend dank Chris !
As I child of the '70 (precisely, of 1972) like you, I can only appreciate these kind of fragrances; Grey Flannel being the king of them. Today I'm going to a drugstore to buy else, but I will also try again Tabac; and maybe buy it. Chris: you deserve many more subscribers!!!
Very comforting juice for me. I have the vintage aftershave and often dab it on just before meditating. They certainly don't make them like this anymore. At such an affordable price, I might as well pick up the edt just to sample the differences first hand. Thanks Chris!
I was able to find this cologne mainly from RU-vid channels I am a HUGE fan of old classics. It has sandalwood and geranium which so does Old Spice, so to me they feel "related" I would call Tabac similar to Old Spice but with more depth it's absolutely wonderful.
Great review! It's such a captivating and rather complex classic fragrance. I use the whole line-up once a week during autumn and winter (shower gel, deo stick, shaving soap, aftershave, aftershave lotion, beard wax and the cologne). I much prefer the eau de cologne to the edt, which I find too sharp and floral. Greetings from Oslo!
My father used to wear Tabac in the 80’s when I was a kid, and I loved when he would let me spritz a little on my neck or arm. I might now have to pick up a bottle, as I haven’t had it in my collection for a number of years. But I can almost close my eyes and remember the smell.
Great presentation, and you've nailed the difference between the two. Try to get your hands on the discontinued Tabac original extreme. For me this is the best version ever! I think that this will take a place in your wine cooler with the rest fragrances that you love 😉
I love Tabac edt, I also use after shave ,shaving soap and bath soap very often which are awesome .Spectacular comprehensive take on Tabac. Thanks so much . PS.Could you do review of Quorum Silver one day please?
Tabac for the win!!!! as a proud wet shaver I own the shaving soap, shaving cream, after shave balm & lotion and finally the cologne .... I've never came across the EDT
Great review Chris! You know i found this little gem from avon may be you know it öland cologne I think is a 70s release, I would love to hear your thoughts on this beauty
Is the EDT really that good? I am about to reup my issey miyake pour homme sport. It is a really clean green scent.. think I may snag this in EDT too for the cheap price.
The original especially in vintage is awesome but I prefer the Extrême and the EDT which are more mossy and masculine. Weird how the soap and shaving cream etc smells more like the EDT🤷🏻♂️
I find the EDT similar to Aramis And Aramis Havana. Kind of a mix of both may me because of tobacco, flowers and spices. I like more the EDT. The Old fórmula of the cologne si more beautiful tnan the actual fórmula . Greetings fron México
Chris. Regarding Irisch Moos. Have you tried Sir 4711 Canada Ceder? Early 70s scent from the same maker of Irisch Moos. Discontinued scent which I happened to find years ago. Very nice and woody, as the name would attest.
EDT more similar to 4711than to Tabac Original we know (EDC/ASL/ASB/ SS/SC) EDT more flower and fresh, unisex scent. nice but I cannot find no matching at all ;) Maybe use the completeTabac Original combo!? e.g. Shave with RS/RC, ASL /ASB and finally complete by choosing EDT for refreshing purpose while EDC does the job on cold days like now.
To me the Eau de Cologne is an aldehydic floral, the Eau de Toilette a carnation bomb. Both on a semi oriental base with the name giving tobacco thrown in.
@@scentland4753I respect your opinion. I'd like to know if you've ever smelled the Façonnable perfume? It's created in the '94s. It's tasteful, clean, unique in smell and last but not least it's pretty cheap for what it offers.
I had tabac, but sold it due to it being skanky. Not on the level of the human waste smell of Korous, but a bit poopy smelling nonetheless A cheapie for some, not for me
