This is the best SAS series I have seen for gen 1 tacos by far. Good work all around. Can wait to see it off road. Ball park what do you think you got into it cost wise?
Thanks you so much for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it. I do not have a solid number. I can tell you that the small things are what add up, like bolts, seals, clips, etc. If i was to make a ballpark guess, i probably have about $4000 (maybe a little under) in the front end swap.
I just found this build series a couple days ago and it's been very enjoyable to watch. Hope to see some videos on little fixes here and there, or maybe some else. Great work!
I considered it. But mostly cost and additional skills were needed. I figured I would go with leafs for now, and maybe one day I will change over to links. Can still wheel pretty hard on leafs.
I was considering a full front and back 5" lift and ifs elimination kit on my 86 runner with all trail gear products ..what's your take on this? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated !!!
I actually have an 87 Toyota pickup (same chassis) that I have personally installed the trail gear ifs elimination kit on. I can say that it is indeed a great kit have can be all inclusive of you have the money. They definitely have figured out what is needed to swap in a solid axle. That being said, I don't like how tall the trucks end up being with their kit. If you do get the trail gear kit, get the 3" (or 4, but no taller) so the you can keep your center of gravity low. Helps reduce the "tippy" feeling.
Thanks im going do the same to mine. You did good on your build i just watched some of your wheeling vids.Did you tighten up the brake dive what i did to mine was add a rear skyjackker helper spring to my front leafs turned out perfect
