God Bless them all ! My youngest son is almost finished with his TACP training and I am just praying he gets through it because he wants it so much. He had 40 in the beginning and they are down to 8. You better want it. He has worked his ass off and it’s still tough. But man can I see a difference. Unbelievable.
Much respect Mr. Clark! I hope he continues the grind and makes it through so he can be working with us soon. Best of luck, and God bless you and your family 🤙🏻
@@FunkyBunkley Looking very good so far. One week left. But we don’t celebrate until the final whistle blows. He played a lot of sports so he knows, it’s not over until it’s over. Keep grinding ! Thanks for the videos. Very informative.
Just got out the Marines.. I miss the life so much, been planning to get back in somehow. Came across your videos and honestly it helped me find that next calling. Thanks for awaking that motivation I once had before bootcamp lol. Much respect Mark 🤝 🇺🇸
I had a coworker tell me I should look into TACP back when I was like 18 because I enjoy working out and I was thinking about military. 6 years later, graduated from college and work full time, but I still find these type of videos interesting. Great content!
You can never forget the sound of bridges and bunkley both harping on you at the same time 🤣”just quit it’s easier your teammates will thank you later”
If Dennis Bridges never called you a jagaloon, then you aren't a real TACP! Haha, in all seriousness I can only hope that it made you a better person. Much respect brotha!
I got out after 7 years…. And I am successful in civillian life. But I miss it. I miss my boys. I’m in the best shape of my life and want to push myself. I’ve been thinking about joining TACP in the guard/reserve I’m rated 100% for PTSD and minor injuries though. I know I can keep my disability if I join the reserves, but I know I will risk losing it in the long run. But I value self purpose more. I’ve been conflicted. But I want this…. Idk why I’m leaving this comment.
When I was going through Army Combat Medic school in San Antonio we had an Air Force PT instructor come over and do an "Aerobics" PT session with us. We laughed at the news... Eventually, we cried at the pain...
Good shit buddy. I'm Learning things I would have never of learned on my own. Keep it up!!! I'm Sure this helps future airmen a ton. Encourages them to stick with what they signed up for. Thank you for the amazing content and your service. (:
True that if you're Combat Arms you will go through one of the CA squadrons at BMT. However if you're not CA you might also go through the CA squadron....which is an experience...
Haha I was in when we made the transition from ETAC/SOTAC to JTAC. Good times and even better guys to hang with. Don’t worry, no name dropping here. If you have time, I’d appreciate talking with you via email or voice. Thanks Brother. “The Strong Shall Stand..”
Darion Hester they are instructor led events, you just have to keep up with the instructor. The eval specifically says, “keep up with the instructor”. Sorry for being vague, but that’s all I can give.
@FunkyBunkley Would any of this be different if your doing the Air Force ROTC program while in college? Really appreciate your video's btw. Really dope content!!
How much does the swim proficiency matter? Are you able to go through with glasses? I don't currently have a driver's license but will I still be able to got though?
Currently the only swim test for TACP is to jump in and ditch your gear. To my understanding, you’ll swim a bit in prep but TACP doesn’t currently do a ton of swimming
For the prior service guys retraining into TACP I've heard you take the PAST and then they send you straight to TACP Prep. Is this true? Side note, already went through SERE as it was required for my previous job (aircrew) and I actually was with the guy on the far left at 5:04, he's a PJ!
FunkyBunkley He was the funniest part of our group! Also went through with 2 TACP guys, Koop and Kahrs, they got me interested in the job. Glad I got stuck with a cool bunch of dudes 🤙🏼
Being active duty already, I am at a disadvantage not getting to go thru SPECWAR Prep/TACP prep.🥺 Looking forward to “next weeks” episode. (Low key disappointed this one took a little longer to be released 😒)
1996, 6 week course, 4 or 5 in a class room, 1 or 2 on the range (brain is abit fuzzy on the time line) Basic PT 3 times a week....no sere, no CQB, nothing outside the norm. UK army, 18 yrs served. I can never understand the US forces putting you guys through what is essentially SF training. If we get into CQB, somethign has seriously gone wrong. We are force multipliers, not hostage rescue.
Hey man love your videos ! I’m thinking of going tacp myself hopefully u see my comment !! But I was born with asthma and now it doesn’t affect me I can run and exercise etc but what would u say ? The school seems a lot harder than I thought! Thank you…
@@FunkyBunkley hell yeah man thank you !! It never bothered you at all while going threw all the school and exercise?? And still need to loose some weight and get in shape but imma check out the seal fit website you shared ! Thanks ones again ! Thank you for your service 💯
@@FunkyBunkley sorry for all the questions but also how smart do you have to be for tacp I seen how you guys read maps and all that I wasn’t the best student
@@SergioGarcia-xr9sn you’ll need to be able to retain information taught, but they teach you everything in the training. Also, you also want to go to the training in the best shape of your life. Best of luck 🤙🏻
On weekends can you leave base? Only ask cus my and I live in SA, and am wondering if we are able to see them on weekends once we are in San Antonio after basic
I’ve tailored my works outs specifically to the air force PT test, PAST, what are some good ways to progress in pull-ups am I excluded for not being fluent in pull-ups? I will keep working @ it but what are my chances if I’m not good at pull-ups?
I was an instructor in the 350th SWTS, and when I was there I was just lucky enough to get a slot and go. Right place, right time really. From what I’ve heard they’ve haunted freefall slots for conventional TACPs.
As prior service, you will be going straight into TACP Prep. You won’t have the option to go to Special Warfare prep, as it’s just for guys/gals coming from basic training.
Air Force OTS is a course that will be required to become an officer. If you’d make it through that and go the TACP Officer (ALO) route, you will need to access for that as well. If you get picked at the ALO selection, then you would attend the same TACP pipeline as all of the enlisted.
I’m not too sure. The only thing that I know is that they will give you a waiver for depth reception, but it’s just a longer process. From what I understand you can’t be color blind or have terrible eyesight but I don’t know the exact requirements medically.
Thomas Lee when I joined, I didn’t really know what I was doing. Both TACP and CCT are great jobs, but I don’t regret how things turned out. And the swimming was initially the reason that my recruiter pushed me for TACP.
Special Warfare Prep just recently tested putting prior service candidates through their course recently, and I am uncertain if they are going to keep doing that or not.
Special Warfare Prep does, but it’s not evaluated (not a pass or fail event). Also, at the TACP Schoolhouse you have to jump in a pool with all of your gear, ditch it, and swim to the side of the pool. 😆
