It's really easy to forget just how intelligent the T3s were. Especially Kalani. The fact he even had a name at all means he had enough clout to have a name.
The droids give names are the ones who often win their battles. The fact that Dooku personally sent Khelani himself meant that Khelani was a key mind to the Sepratists

3:02 This bit, while still being pretty funny, is also a perfect example of the limitations of the early T-1 series, and how their calculating intelligence was both a strength and a weakness. This Tac-droid was instantly able to identify the attack on the tank as being useless, but wasn't able to think laterally enough to recognize the threat to itself in time. To us it's nothing, but that honestly requires an extraordinary amount of advanced reasoning. The Tac sees the grenade being thrown, assumes the grenade must have a target, calculates that the trajectory of the grenade is aimed at the tank, registers that enemy_target = tank. Estimates grenade's explosive yield, compares it against the Super-Tank's armor plating stress resistance upper limit, finds that there's such a laughably colossal gap between the two that it prematurely activates its gloating protocol while background safety subroutines are still finishing up BOOM you're scrap metal. Imagine this same tactic being used on a larger scale, using a feint on another target to distract the AI from your true goal - them. You could endlessly give these droids the run-around with this, and Anakin and the gang do exactly that, this whole episode. This is why you rarely see a T-1 independently leading troops in the field without a biological supervisor. They can calculate Pi to the Nth degree, but they can't identify patterns as lightning-fast as we can. Even the T-3 suffered from this kind of hyper-specialized thinking to some extent, despite the fact that near the end of the war, the Confederacy got desperate enough to actually legitimately try and give their droid commanders high intelligence, despite their almost pathological fear of droid take-over, and ended up creating some seriously impressive, but still seriously limited software thinkin' droids. It just goes to show how much we take our biological meat-brains, and their ability to swiftly recognize that grenades = danger, for granted.
Well said! There are indeed things humans do easily but machines struggle with, such as visually recognizing objects. It’s surprising how difficult some things are to program in machines, especially when that difficulty arises from a subtle technicality. For instance, with Arduino, reading a string (or even better, a char*/char array) input or reading a very specific location in a file. Seems simple, but in C++, not always as simple as saying “read input” or “read this location in a file”. You have to tell it how to read the input, or how and why to read this location in the file. Just wondering, are you a programmer? 🙂
When a grenade is thrown your direction, your first thought shouldn’t be “what’s the tactical advantage this grenade provides to the enemy?” Instead your first thought should be “holy shit a grenade”
Or probably the tactical droids weren’t programmed with a sense of self preservation or concern for their own safety and since they’re not made for combat and couldn’t fathom an attack towards itself because of that
I love how they gave each super droid a clear personality that prevents them from being fully logical. The one serving under Wat Tambor was dismissive of organic intelligence. The one on Ryloth was incredibly assured of his own intelligence. The one serving under Poggle the Lesser only saw the big picture. Etc.
I never thought about that but great catch. Like they all have some kind of weakness in their logic as smart as they are. God the writing on this show was so good
I am really convinced that if the Confederacy had more Super-Tactical-Droids, not even the power of plot armor would have saved the Republic characters in the long term. A few died in the series, but the battles they appeared in, often had better results, even when compared with the organic commanders, and normal Tactical Droids. So in the long campaigns they had during the war, the Confederacy would have probably done far better. Heck, I can only imagine them not winning, if the Republic characters had some ridiculous stroke of luck through their plot armor.... Like their ship almost being destroyed, but a sudden solar flare took out the enemy shield, and they could win the battle.... Or heck, go even worse and save them with a herd of wildlife when surrounded by the enemy.
@@the3zoooz1 Not necessarily. For every great Jedi commander like Obi Won, there were another dozen Jedi who were terrible commanders. And who's blunders cost the republic dearly. Without the Jedi the Republic might have still had a fighting chance. Their most powerful weapon was the clones, not the Jedi. Jedi were great individual fighters. But many of them were poor leaders.

Well technically space is a vacuum... when compared to earth’s atmosphere. There are still trace amounts gas even in the most empty parts of space, it’s just that it’s so little that you can just ignore it for most applications. But if you are traveling really fast, like anything from 10% of light speed and higher, then you would start to experience some noticeable drag, and at speeds of 70% of light speed then you would have to design your ship with aerodynamics in mind.

I mean the drag and turbulence could (in theory) be explained as navigating against especially dense solar wind, of course for that to happen you have to forget the way a ship's shields work in Star Wars.
there were 2 compilations of tactical droids on yt. one is yours, and the other is as it seems lost. i downloaded both, yet, it is also not anymore in my collection. do you perhaps know where to find it/if it is still up on yt? would be nice to have it tho. (otherwise it is on one of my locked hard disc drives. i dont realy know)

I think that one was voiced by the guy who voiced Mace. The VAs all took turns voicing the tactical droids and sometimes you can just tell who it was, like the Geonosian factory one was clearly voiced by the guy who did Yoda/Yularen, or K2-B4 was voiced by Ahsoka’s VA.
@@captainasher287 agreed however that's a super tactical droid that one being named kalani he was in the clone wars tv series as well but I mean just the plan tactical droids that the super radicals should be a counter for clone commandos
Michael Miller The one I wanted to look like is at 3:20 though. His name is TV-94, he is the normal tactical droid with the red eyes and red and black paint job that served under Grievous.
The Tactical droid at 2:38 sounds suspiciously like Tom Kane (he voices Admiral Yularin and Yoda) it almost sounds like he’s doing Yularins voice for that Droid.
Synthetic meat is a real thing, it used by vegans and vegetarians as a protein supplement. I'm not sure if it works as most vegans look sickly and most vegetarians eat other sources of bio-mass like fish and insects.
Actually releasing massive amounts of killer bees to fight jedi isn't a bad idea. Droids aren't effected by poison stings and most jedi don't have environmentally sealed suits like like the troopers.

The tactical droid that is control of the citadel is named K2B4 which is reference to Kobe Bryant who plays for the lakers which has a colour scheme of yellow and purple and he has 24 as his number
I love the second to last clip, the supertactical droid recognises a severe waste of resources, presents this concern to his superior, and then accepts his superior's orders.
