How to remove and replace the tailgate lock barrel and microswitch unit in a 2002 to 2009 VW Polo Mk4 9N. If the microswitch on the unit fails, it won’t send the signal to the servo motor, which opens the tailgate latch via a lever mechanism. You will only be able to manually open the tailgate using the key. The microswitches are integral to the switch unit and cannot be replaced separately.
