This is such a strategic game. I love how you must manage you equipment to prepare for the horde of enemies you must slay. This makes the game not very linear.

This game immediately made me think of Brian Jaques; Redwall series. So to hear you say it was one of the inspirations... well I can see it.

Got an instant Redwall vibe from this, loved those books as a kid. Glad to hear you felt the same. Too many great looking games out recently. I need more time in my life.

I was a huge fan of the Redwall novels when I was young. Martin the Warrior was the GOAT. Might buy this just on that basis 🤩

Eastward, Tails of Iron, Forged in Shadow Torch, Flynn: Son of Crimson...I'm going to go broke.

It feels like the game is difficult but absolutely fair by allowing him to get tanky and have permanent healing ability

The Red Wall books were phenomenal.

I really like the graphics of this one.

This looks beautiful. Though I'm not a fan of "souls-like difficulty" since I'm nearing 40 and would rather come home from work and play a game to relax not to stress out.

The animation and combat is really an achievement for a smaller team, storybook illustration work really well

I loved this game. It's incredibly beautiful, the gameplay is perfectly paced, and the bosses are decently challenging (though I had to restart on the easy mode because I couldn't do the first boss on normal mode 😅).

Waited for this review and am quite excited to pick this one up! Was gifted some eshop cards for my bday and this is perfect!

Looks like I know what I'm playing whilst waiting for Silksong. Might splurge for the physical. :)

Bug Fables meets Darkest Dungeon for a date in Salt and Sanctuary. More just the art style and charm than mostly mechanics of course, but it looks really good for a Soulsbourne style game. May try this out after Eastward, but right now Eastward is too amazing to stop playing right now. Only thing I play right now other than Eastward is Earth Born :)

I JUST picked this up, it was on my Switch Wishlist for a bit, I'm a HUGE fan of the Redwal novelsl (may Brian rest in peace) and I grew up on anthropomorphic animal characters like the Rescue Rangers and the like so it drew me in even though I'm not the biggest fan of Souls style combat but this is a bit more forgiving in the fact you're not set back too badly if you die, unlike other Souls games where you are punished quite harshly at times, there's also the fact it actually HAS difficulty levels you can choose at the start unlike 90% of Souls style games which just have a default 'curve' learning and "Get good quick" kind of difficulty. I was just scrolling my Wishlist on Switch earlier today and saw the game was 75% off...making the game $6.99 USD, a right steal and it also has the DLC included. I've been having fun with it, and while the Clangers style whistle talk CAN get a little annoying in long bouts of gameplay, the frequent save points make it easy enough to take a break if it starts grating on the nerves too over much. I'm US born and raised so I never grew up with the Clangers, only heard of them so getting to play a game where all the 'talking' is done in that way and with pictures minus the narrator is unique at the least. Can't say it's a bad buy, especially for the price I got it and the fact that it's fun, even for someone like me who doesn't really like Souls style games...but I will play them sometimes like Hollow Knight and this.

This looks so good! Sadly due to my health its not advisable to play Dark Souls like games, only relaxing stuff for me hehe

How is the character progression handled? Can you farm areas for xp to get stronger like Dark Souls? Do places respawn if you use a bench? Also, is it 60 fps/1080p on Switch? (Trying to choose between Steam version and Switch)

Brian J, Redwall comic? I didn't know they made one. But the original 22 books I had known about. They are some of the coolest fictional animal kingdoms an their foresty underworld. Some of the best books I read back in the day. Along with Fablehaven series. Reading keeps the imagination alive.

Best game since Hollow Knight! Really enjoyed this and the Bright Fir Forest Expansion. Hope we get a sequel.

I've almost finished this game (on the last boss, he's tough!) and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I do have a couple of issues though - for me at least, I've found it a bit buggy. I've had a number of crashes, mainly when you're travelling from one area to the next. I've also had the sound mess up a few times, or just stop entirely and, like the review said, I also lost control of my character a couple of times. Finally, and this is more about the game design, I find it quite hard sometimes to 'see' Reggie during battles when there are a number of enemies/npcs on screen at the same time - the brown/muted visual style makes everything blend in together a bit, and this is accentuated even more when the screen fades to black and white when your energy is low. I guess one could argue this makes the game more realistic, but for me I just found it frustrating. As I said though, it's still a fantastic game and a huge recommendation.

The only problem about this Game is: it is wayyy to short...i have my Platin in 10 ours....i mean 10 ours....the Game is realy good but i expected more Playtime.

I would say it’s more like salt and sanctuary, not hollow knight. Some of the bugs look like hollow knight but the combat is much different as you can actually touch enemies when they aren’t attacking you, you can dodge through enemies normally without a cool down and there is no tough platforming in this game.

I'm def gonna check this out after I'm done with Death's Gambit Afterlife

I'm glad this got a high-scoring review. I would have been incredibly disappointed if this had fallen flat. I absolutely loved the art style of this game when I first saw the trailer for it. This will be one that I pick up physically. If the physical copy doesn't come with beautiful reverse cover art I'll very disappointed.

This game is free in the monthly playstation offerings this month.

I experienced aesthetic pleasure from this game and got a lot of adrenaline from battles and victories over bosses. Excellent hand-drawn artwork. Perfectly optimized dualshock 5. The game is very difficult, especially at the highest difficulty level. I love hard games and went platinum on this game. in such a difficult game, where to pass the boss you need to die 50-100 times, it is very important that the ps5 has instant downloads after death. For those who love challenges and visual style, this is a must! It definitely takes its rightful place in my collection of masterpieces!

I keep going back and forth if should get this on Switch. Seems like the performance is good on the system so I might just do so.
