For a relatively "dry" year for Nintendo, I managed to add an odd twenty games to my collection, at least. This mostly happened thanks in large part to well-done, in-depth reviews like yours! Cheers gents.
Too tempting... picked it up and loving it. I almost don’t want to progress too quickly because every stage is so great to look at... and the audio has a great sense of humour. This is a really good attempt to mix FPS and Roguelike. It is genuinely funny and whatever floors the graphics might have can be passed over because the lore that the game creates is different and keeps you smiling
I like the graphics in this game, i always enjoy games that are 3d but use a 3d cell shade. The ships interiors look very interesting, kind want see an fps taking place on massive ship with bioshock vibe to it.
I know this comment is almost a year old but you would like System Shock 2 I think, but there's an enhanced edition coming out soon so I'd wait for that
Been waiting for this game to come to Switch for a while but $30 is definitely too steep so I'll have to pass for now. Hopefully they fix the screen tearing too.
No gyro. No purchase. It's just not acceptable for a switch fps to be missing this feature. Was really looking forward to this so hopefully they add jt.
This not having Gyro aiming doesn’t make this a buy for me. I really enjoy shooters on the switch who have it and love Doom on the PC to also have it if you hook the Pro controller through bluetooth. Still looks hella lovely of a game!
Jake Land you’re right... I’ve just bought crysis and gyro are there but... lagging and very slow... not buying bioshock yet cause the collection is lacking in gyroaiming...
I like this game, I won't deny it. The artstyle, the theme, its borderlandesque appeal... But no gyro controls puts me off immediately. I am used to mouse + keyboard for fps and just can't adapt to aiming with a stick control. Also Splatoon2 kind of ruined me, it's silk smooth to play and aim effectively. Do you think that adding gyro is difficult for a developer? Just asking, not hating!
I saw it when it was exclusive for xbox one and since I have an xbox one probably it's best to buy it there. I like how it looks and would be a first rogue like for me but that 30 unlocked fps... I don't know the visuals aren't that amazing to not make the game run at 60 or 30 locked
I have been interested since it was announced a few months ago. I might wait for a sale. Too many other games coming the next month and a half. I'm getting: - Bioshock Collection - the Outer Worlds - Burnout Paradise - possibly Ion Fury next week (depends on the price) Then there are the rumored Mortal Kombat Kollection and the old school Duke Nukem coming soon.
@@SwitchUpYt Well, it was rated WAY back in November last year. Apparantly, it's the Atomic Edition, the one I used to play on PC. And with Night Trap and Double Switch released, I'm still hoping for a Phantasmagoria port. I never really played many PC games in the day.
The game is amazing! It runs very smoothly and it's a lot of fun! The only thing that I want is motion controls but now that I'm thinking about it, the game is a little bit of the easy side and motion controls will make it a lot easier. Sorry for the bad English
This one looks interesting. Anytime nintendo pushes into game directions that are not typical nintendo titles in on board. Shout out to Glen, would love to see more gaming on a budget videos, they are super awesome. I'm new to your channel and have been binge watching your videos, the budget ones are my favs!
Looks really cool, but no gyro and screen tearing makes it a "wishlist, for after a price drop", instead of a "maybe after finishing my current game". Physical.
Had it on my wish list for some time, just checked back on this vid to find out about gyro. Oh well... Could’ve been great. But I just can’t for the life of me, play a shooting game without actually being able to aim either with a mouse or gyro, which is to the mouse what the mouse is to stick “aiming”.
I've played the crap out of this game on PC Xbox pass, I've been salivating on the switch release ever since it was announced. Aaaaaaand it has no gyro :/.
Lovely review: Can't believe I have completely missed this game. First time I've seen it was in this review! Definitely one to keep an eye out for! As always, cheers guys!
Guys I sold my switch, purchased an Xbox one controller and have been playing solely on my one plus 7t via project xcloud and I must say NO REGRETS. I didn't realize how much graphics meant to me lol . I'm more of a casual gamer but skipped the PS3 360 era and this era I would only play PS4 and Xbox one with friends who had the consoles and mostly sports sims . So with switch I didn't care to much about graphics and frame rate but I got bored of it even tho I would buy games after game lol . Maybe that was my problem , but I just finished just cause 4 on xcloud and it was a riot , so much stupid fun and it played great via my 5ghz network 150mbps down. If any one has been accepted to xcloud and plays hand-held mostly I'd strongly recommend it. Bye guys it's been fun and enjoyed the reviews.
WARNING... iOS users... Siri wants to interact with the AI that is breaking through this review. (Timestamp 04:08) pmsl EDIT: - well it did repeatedly launch Siri once Mark said “Yes Sireee” - LOL
Has a very XIII from GC/PS2 era vibe to it's art style. Price is a little steep for me at the moment but this is looking mighty charming space story that I can't pass up. Yeah, David Firth is a mad genius. Few people went to the dark corners of the mind he did. Those rusty spoons really laid some lead into the Internet's subconscious.
Looks great. The only downside, $45 (aud) here. That is a price of a AAA title. Is it worth $45? Might wait for a sale. Replayablity wise? Thanks. This looks like it got a lot of it's ideas from Borderlands, espically the lootable items you can open up.
So disappointed about gyro controls. Console shooters are a no-go for me unless they can somehow compete with mouse and keyboard. If any devs happen to read this, suffice to say I watched this review until the minute he said there were no gyro controls, then stopped. 😬
Very glad you referenced red dwarf as it gives me the same kind of vibes and i love the series! Really disappointed about the frame rate hope they can improve upon it.
You guys are about to hit 100k!!!!! ive loved seeing the growth of this channel so much! you guys are awesome. Great review, i think i might have to pick this one up
wow... this just looks like a FPS judge dredd game drawn by Kev Walker... and that is not a bad thing, nor an insult, at all. From the art style, down to the font and the fact the justice department badge is pretty much everywhere.... Jeez, even the logo uses the old Judge Dredd logo font :D Really really nice visuals.
91.4k Oh man we are 8.6k away from SwitchUp going all big time on us! Haha. Ignore my comment lads as im sure you just want that moment to hurry up now. I really hope its super soon. Btw great vid as always, Perfect to chill me out before bed! Not that its boring haha, just very relaxing compared to all the doom and gloom lately.
just “finished” the game and gotta say this was the most fun I had in a while! I was hooked for three consecutive days and will deffo pick it up again *many* times. crazy ass shooter with managing mechanics and a bit of strategy to it. its rogue like but almost doesnt feel like, its very forgiving and “saves” as you progress. the style brings back memories of viewtiful joe, wind waker (those explosions!!) or if you’re super weird, the TMNT game, all game cube classics.
I *loved* this on Xbox Game Pass and always thought it would be *perfect* for the Switch. Perhaps I’ll wait for the game to go on sale and for it to get an update to cap that frame-rate... Although, I freakin’ love it, so maybe it’ll be worth ponying up the cash just to support the developers. 🤷🏼♂️
Well, the thing about a black hole - its main distinguishing feature - is it's black. And the thing about space, the colour of space, your basic space colour, is black. Shame about the frame rate it makes me really question getting it. Especially at that price! Seems it’s in Xbox Game Pass for those interested. Really hope they patch it up on Switch.
Another great review! (Red Dwarf in the title and an Arnold Schwarzenegger comparison all in one review? Awesome! 🤣) Had this on my wish list, and now it's moved up after seeing this! I'm going to need an intervention with all of the games I want/desire/crave(?)
Mark, with that personalised a recondition I’ll get it downloaded as soon as it’s out tomorrow. You guys do a brilliant job with Switch up, I know I’m safe if you’ve recommended it 😁
Man, I've put about 2 hours into this game and the input lag is definitely noticable. It's not so terrible that you can't play but there have been missions where I'm trying to sneak around and my character continues moving even after taking my finger of the analog stick. Beyond that it's fun though and I love the look of it. Just hope that they fix that input lag.
I jave been playing this for awhile on other platforms and I fully recommend it if the switch port is good. Love this game. Yes! Bonus points for mentioning Red Dwarf. Uk nails the comedy genre.
