Hi Guys,
This is a follow up for TARR (Take All Root Rot) in my own yard.

For TARR: Peatmoss and Sulfur are the most helpful!
TIPS:
Watering properly is the key
Dethatching in early spring
Don't apply too much Herbicide

You mentioned you dethatch your yard in the spring. How are you doing this in St. Augustine grass? Manually with a rake? Ive read that dethatching machines can rip apart St Aug stolons> Thanks for the video. I am experiencing severe conditions for fungal disease here in south Florida right now. Some brown patch and TARR. I will give the peat moss a try.

erik e Thanks for watching. Test your PH first before applying peat moss. Peat moss is to lower PH and being east of DFW you’re likely to have low PH already. If you have a PH lower than 6.7 its not TARR giving you problems. De-thatch St Augustine with a leaf rake.

UglyWeeds Texas I just found out I have root rot on my St Agustin grass and just applied peat moss question do I need to water my lawn after applying peat moss and what should I do after ? I’m in a Florida weather and my ph was 7.4 thanks .

Will peat moss make my compaction problems worse or is fine ? I heard it absorbs water so nervous about that

@@UglyWeedsTexas ok. I tried some compost and the microlife 004 earlier this spring and it liked both of those but maybe I’ll try the peat next. Ph came back at 7.8

@@bhflute lower your PH by top dressing with peat moss, granular elemental sulphur, and citric acid. Lowering PH is much harder than raising it. Shoot for 6.5

@@UglyWeedsTexas ok. Have you used fungicides for this? I tried a propiconazole based one and it didn’t do anything, but I’ve heard azoxystrobin like Disease X could help? I’ve also heard fungicides kill all the good fungi too so it might negate the microlife product I used. I’m not sure what to do besides peat moss (if anything) at this point, if stick with the microlife plan or revert back and try a fungicide. The disease has already taken a lot of my yard. :/

@@bhflute we used heritage twice , too dressed with peat moss, and replaced all of the dead areas with new sod.
