HOW can people stand still in that song!!! I'm sitting on my bed with my ipad just about bouncing off my knee!!! The good old days when music was MUSIC 😀😀😀😀😀😀
I'm on another planet when this comes on and I'm driving my car, the volume goes up and I'm screaming with pure rock n roll joy, sheesh, what a groovy song.
@@banzospod lol...can't remember even making this comment back then, but it's pure joy isn't it...music is the best drug 😈...with a little touch of alcohol! 🤣😇
I know.. me 2.. I'm sitting on a folding chair in my bedroom so hot in here.. What a great version... I been listening to them since I could remember.. and I'm 70 years old now... ROCK ME ... ROCK ME
I've just watched an earlier version in. The early 70s and he and the band sound just as good here as there.. Not changed much at all and his voice is just as good as it was back then
China grove, long train runnin, listen to the music, great songs but damn this had soul and energy and emotion that is unparalled. Little motown, little blues, little rock n roll
I've seen these guys twice in the past few years and they can still rock! I also think that these guys have one of the greatest sounding names in rock and roll history. The Doobie Brothers!
Everything is fucking perfect: instrumental arrangements, harmonies, solos, rythm section: everything. And Tom's voice has America's greatest music history wrapped up in it. Bloody giants. That's what Doobie Brothers are. And as a Motown junkie myself, all I can say is THANK YOU for this superlative versh.
RnRHoF is bogus. They should have inducted the Doobs in 83. Since they inducted rap and lesser bands, the hall has no criteria and credibility. For example: How cold the cure be relevant? However, the Doobs remind us of the great bands people love.
I don't think the boys really cared that they got in after so many years of getting overlooked, FUCK the R&RHOF. This band deserved to be in so many years ago and EVERYONE knows it 😤😤😤
I love it!!! This is why people always wanted me to sing anything from the Doobies because I sound just like Tommy Johnston.I practiced his style to duplicate it and love singing "Take Me In Your Arms",Listen To The Music" and "China Grove".I still like watching Tommy,he's the master singer.
There just isn't a better rock and roll tune than this in the whole catalogue - kicking 12 bar with a great middle 8. The great Kim Weston as well as the Isley Brothers have done great versions of this as well and I can imagine so many singers doing equally fantastic versions. In fact I can't really imagine anyone doing a bad version. This is the best so far though and Tom Johnson is right up there with the greats as far as I'm concerned. I could listen to this number for ever! In fact I would love an extended jam on this for about 15 minutes to play at my funeral. There isn't a better celebration of life out there!
This is more like the original by Eddie Holland. I am having Listen To The Music played at my funeral. Have seen the boys 34 times. 3 times last year in 2019. Legend.
One of the greatest American Bands. The RnRHoF should have inducted them in 83. Since they inducted lesser bands and rap, the hall does not have criteria or credibility. The Hall is therefore Bogus. but.....the Doobies are for REAL!
This is one of the great songs, as well as Black Water, Running down the Highway, their just a super great band. Seen them many times, but with Synyrd is was special.
I saw them with Skynrd in Philly. It was clearly a Sknyrd show. The Doobies were the warm up band and played for about an hour. Pat said Thanks for coming. Enjoy Lynrd Skynrd. Of course, I like both bands but the favorite is The Doobs.
The 50th anniversary tour with MICHAEL MCDONALD! Right On!! I hope we get a new album out of them! World Gone Crazy was excellent! Does Ted Templeman have another one left in him?
