Heavy Bag - Takedowns and Throws:
Rehearse takedown and throw techniques using a freestanding heavy bag or a bag on the ground for the duration of the drill. You may be limited to executing only certain techniques applicable to the equipment, depending on the type and configuration of the bag you’re using, and the ways you can grip it. You should be able to include double and single legs, side trips, front and rear bearhug variations, hip throws, inside trips, and possibly other takedown and throw techniques with which you’re familiar. Make sure to work both sides of your body and quickly stand the bag back up after it goes to the ground to start a new takedown or throw technique.

This is great , I've been looking for something like this for ages how much was the bag and what's it filled with please?
@fightness01
@fightness01 3 года назад
I bought the bag at Dicks' Sporting Goods. As I recall it was around $300. The bottom base is filled with sand and the cylindrical portion is foam (the top is very light and the bottom is heavy). Since the top is so light it's not very good for standup striking because it's almost like punching air, but it's a good supplemental bag for takedown practice and for ground striking drills.

@@fightness01 Actually, it could be good for standup striking if you place it against a wall and hit it. The only bad thing about that is, the paint on the wall could get messed up.

What's that thing at the base called? Is it sold separately?
@fightness01
@fightness01 2 года назад
No, it's not sold separately, but you can detach it. It's attached by a zipper.

Uppercuts are also a big worry if you give to much space in your take down

Thanks. The one I'm using here is made by Century. I bought it at a Dick's Sporting Goods in the US, but you can probably order it directly from Century online or maybe find it on Amazon.

Get your chin out of the air man! Good takedowns otherwise.

Yo I’m new to grappling could you explain why that’s bad?
@josiahcone7506
@josiahcone7506 2 года назад
@@KadenLafond well it’s traditionally told in striking(my main background, Western boxing), to prevent being caught on the chin. This should be held for any fight, and as for grappling it will make your head harder to snap down and your neck harder to snatch.

I wish my bag wasnt 50kg and my bag wasnt on the attick
@fightness01
@fightness01 4 года назад
Take it down and use it. 50kg is fine for this drill. Heavier could be better if the bag is taller/longer, but yours should work okay.
