Lived in a tenement at 698 East Main, across the street from the Calypso Club. Joined the Navy in ‘58 and never came back. All torn down. Sadly, all I recognize is the viaduct by Singers and St. Michael’s church. Good video. Keep ‘em coming.
There used to be a Zenith TV store near the DQ, IIRC. Also there was a pharmacy, either Gabriel’s on the lower end of East Main and Paul’s Apizza further up. Again, if I’m remembering correctly.
I remember that! When that DQ was New!!! I was only 5. I always got the red topped vanilla cone! My mom always got the choc. topped, choc. ice cream cone!!! Then when I was a teen, I went there with my Aunt. She loved their Maple walnut sundae!!! I had to get that, too!!! A bit of Heaven on Earth, back in the day!!!! & Yes!! Paul's Apizza!! More Heaven on Earth!!! And Don't 4get Adomat's deli, & Especially, Never forget Mary's Varity store/ gift shop!!! My mother got All our Christmas stocking stuffers there!! & when we lived out of state, my grandmother took me & my brother there, for just a treat!!! No holiday. She just bought us a toy on our vacation! My brother got a truck, & I chose a paint by number kit. I remember Mary, too!!!! Sweet, Sweet lady. Then in the 70's, the store got robbed. Everyone was in shock. Who's Do that to Mary??!

I remember their hamburger restaurant. We never ate there, but we Always got their Awesome ice cream cones!! I loved their Purple, blackberry ice cream cones. Only a few yrs ago, I told my young granddaughter that. Then I said, "& now it's replaced with a CVS!" She replied, "Why??? Everyone Knows, Food is better than drugs," !!!!
