Retired firearms officer Tony Long, who shot dead Azelle Rodney in 2005, speaks to Sky News as a police officer is cleared of the murder of Chris Kaba.
He's one of four police marksmen who have stood trial for murder after shooting dead a suspect, and calls for a 'better understanding' of officers who use lethal force.
Mr Long sits down with Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt to talk about what it's like taking a life and what more legal protections the police force can offer.
