The fact that what the teacher is going through is so simple indicates that this must be early on in the class, meaning he most likely did this with relatively new classmates.
This is for new students, the system looks similar to Matlab and the professor is explaining the results of true or false questions. That is explained early in the semester
This video was shot at Georgia Tech, where quite a few classes use Matlab. There's general CS for engineering which is an overview of Matlab for students, then various statistics and numerical methods classes also use it.
The one time that I missed geology class, was the day that the Olympic bronze medalist (women's 3 team swimming relay) brought her medal to class and showed it. The ONE time that I could have seen an Olympic medal in person, and I missed it.
@@ketan6182 I only knew her through class and I sat 3-4 packed rows behind her (big auditorium classes with a crap load of students), and she had like 4 friends with her, so I wouldn't have been able to get her attention to ask about visiting her to see it. Also, I dropped the class a couple of weeks after that, since I couldn't save my grade.
the guy is a genius. He can write as fast as he would on a PC, while also already having the notes ready to be added to his notebook without having to print them.
I have a typewriter that my grandma gave to me, and I actually use it a lot still. I have always hated writing by hand, so when I was younger I had a lot of problems doing my homework on paper. So I eventually was gifted the typewriter and then I used it to do on paper homework. Now I still use it sometimes for paper stuff, or for writing short stories because there is something satisfying about using a typewriter.
@@rzul Yes! I tend to use it whenever I have to write something longer than a few sentences, so if I'm writing a long card I will sometimes use the typewriter to make it easier for myself.
I really appreciate the professor (and the class, too) having a sense of humor about it. Respect is important but the simple pleasures are what life's all about.
@@epicsauce7619 because computer science class generally requires computers (unless you're Alan Turing or some other genius around his time). That's why it gets better.
Why do people feel the need to describe what happened in a video in the comments? Is their intelligence so low they do it as a reminder to themselves? I'm genuinely confused...
@@Ninja-ru3xd they all do, you have to press each button in like an inch or two. i've used one it's pretty cool but you definitely can't type as fast because you have to push that far in.
@@nootics i don't think it's part of any formal education - just an expression i've heard used commonly, as well as in RPG games including dungeons & dragons chaotic neutral would sort of mean that you are neutrally aligned, but you tend towards having a chaotic personality or being mischievous with no ill-intent
After seeing this, I brought my typewriter to class. My science teacher loved it, she took pictures of the type writer and showed it to the other science teachers.
THIS COMMENT HAS EXACTLY THE SAME COMMENT ON MY COMMENT LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL COMMENT COMMENT COMMENT COMMENT BLA BLA BLA.. there happy? Now there’s a real reply.
no it wouldn't liar for a death metal concert u need metal and death and the typewriter soundwaves cant [provide the 2500 newtons to kill so this comment is a lie
Back in 2008, I took a class called "keyboarding" in high school. The computer lab still used dot matrix printers. If you don't know what those are, congrats you don't live in the stone age. Anyway, they are basically typewriters that print from computers. And they sound like old loud 5¼ floppy drives reading a disk, sort of. The sound of all 20 printers going simultaneously when we had to print our worksheets was maddening.
@@gabihatersclub4446 Well, I ain't trying to type that way unless you are being sarcastic. In case you are not, I have used a hyphen in between my word to make it less confusing. There are two 'r's present in the word repetitively. It may not actually be correct according to banal grammar norms but it seems realistic. For example, let's take into account the word, "underrecognized". You see how hard it is to grasp the two repetitive 'r's? How about under-recognized? You sort of break the word into two distinct words which are somewhat more readable and clear. That was my intention. No need to thank me for the explanation. Between your joke was unfunny because I typed only 2 words in case you were being sarcastic.
@@coaxed_in_loath4611 I was really over-sarcastic and sorry you took your time for the explanation, it absolutely makes sense and it’s really easier to read. The real reason why I made this stupid joke is because it reminded me of a reply I saw 2 weeks ago in which somebody literally wrote “under-stand” and I really thought it was funny
@@gabihatersclub4446 Lol, it's fine mate, you don't have to apologize. I thought it would be appropriate for me to explain because I personally feel this hyphen trend is somewhat ignored in this age of online typing. I kind of feel like a boomer now, lol. Yeah, there is a lot of vile shit you may find in the comment section. Definitely a lot of incoherent comments with wrong grammar and silly typing habits like you depicted. It is no wonder.
He was barely typing on it, imagine the sound if he went full "send a telegram to the ministry of war" on that typewriter. Video would have been over a lot sooner, haha!
@@shaunhayes3072 No they don't lol you can buy a good used typewriter for 30 bucks and get it serviced (if it needs it) to be in perfect working condition for like 80 bucks. I know because that's exactly what I did lol.
Funny thing is a lot of programmers swear by Cherry blue type keyboards precisely because they are super clicky like a classic typewriter. I have one for my computer and it works great.
"You left your typewriter at my apartment Straight from the tortured poets department I think some things I never say Like, "Who uses typewriters, anyway?"
This man is an absolute legend. He brought a typewriter to a coding, computer science, or whatever computer related class this is and used it. I'd use one in class unless they tell me not to because I can save money on printer ink cartridges, and I won't have to worry about the WIFI quitting in the middle of class. This was back when people could drive worth a damn, mostly because smart phones weren't a thing yet. Whatever this guy does with his life, it's worth it.
Lmao if you're seriously trying to learn in college with a type writer then you haven't learned that much to realise you can get by with a pen and notebook.
