This show was the grown ups version of Goosebumps

As I read the comments, I noticed that many of us watched this show as kids and we have a special place in our hearts for it.

This show was before its time. I used to stay up until 10pm-11pm to watch it every Friday on HBO. Bring back Tales from the Crypt

As a toddler I used to watch these with my older sister. And yep, turned out to be very into horror, goth and metal. Lol. I miss my sister so much. She passed away a few years later. But as a family, we used to watch Star Trek, Quantum Leap (the OG), Buck Rodgers, 6 million dollar man, Bionic Woman, Battlestar Galactica (OG), The A-Team on a specific Foxtel channel that I can’t remember the name of. But Tales from the Crypt, my sister would get out the spare mattress, extra sheets and we would make a fort under the table and have the sheets around the table so we could watch the TV and be enclosed, made it spookier. These moments I remember so fondly when I think of my sister.

When I was a kid my older sister used to play this at full blast just to make me go to bed but the joke's on her I became a huge horror genre fan 😂

This is great,anyone also remember late night showings of tales from the dark side too?

This show takes me back to my childhood. My older brother used to try and scare me by watching these episodes. I ended up being a big fan! My brother passed away last June in a car wreck/fire. He was 41. Watching this, Beavis and Butthead and jack*ss bring back many happy memories of us growing up. He really was the best older brother any girl could ask for. Miss you, Adam. ❤

What I like about this series is the twist at the end of each episode. It is always a weird twist.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the phenomenal actors and actresses that took time to shoot these mini movies. Imagine reading one of these scripts and taking it so serious you think you're getting a award nomination. These 3 were one of my favorite episodes.

I miss this show! I use to watch the beginning and go hide 🫣before he popped out the coffin 😨😱.

I would wake up after my parents went to bed, sneak downstairs, put a blanket over the door and watch episodes on one bar of volume 12” from the screen. Great memories

I grew up watching these shows. It's crazy how many of the actors in these shows came to be A-list celebrities

I am surprised they didn't make remakes of this great show. The 80's really rocked back then with cheesy shows and movies. The acting was good and great entertainment as well. Thanks for sharing.

looking back on these now, i never realized how many big name stars did tales from the crypt. now a days you wouldn't see this because its all about how much money instead of having love for acting

This is just a gem of a show. The young and talented actors, the cheesy gore and the wit of it all!❤ Plus, it reminds me of being a teenager again watching these with my brother and friends. Always a surprise ending really 😂

Aww. Love this! When i was young, i used to sneak and watch this every single week! Lol! Years later, my Dad told me that they would then sneak up on ME and make sure i was okay! They always knew what i was up to the entire time! Such great memories! ❤❤❤

When I grew up.. it came on Saturday midnight.. me and my lil sisters tried our best each week to stay up to watch it .. I absolutely miss those days ❤😂

I swear to God the first dream I can ever recall is HIM popping his head from under my crib while laughing infamously and me not screaming because I literally recognize him from watching the show with my parents lmao! I don't know if it was a real dream or if I imagined it but that memory has been in my head since I was 3 😂

Man this show is just jam packed with talent. From the writing, directing, sets and effects, and especially all of the great actors. Never has there been a better blend of horror and dark comedy, macabre and camp. They nailed it.

The intro into the haunted mansion and decent into the dungeon cellar was always creepy and scary as hell as a kid. I always watched these.

21 May 2024 For all its hair-raising worth, the fourth segment "The New Arrival" is a brilliant conceptual piece extraordinaire. Bizarrely absurd, horrifically staged and just shockingly good-crazy. Gotta hand it to the scriptwriters! Nora's the epitome of mummy-horror, surely. The mental maze played out within the architectural mayhem of a mad fun-house - one has to wonder how much it inspired Stephen King and his ilk. Psychology was/is never an exact science many contend. Simply because to this day the very best head-shrinkers in the world are still grasping at intangibles, cobwebs lurking/enmeshed within this urgh! mushy, slimy mass inside the cranium. Correct me if I'm mistaken but psychology has yet to win a Nobel Prize all these decades. Gracias.

I was born in London in 83 I watched this alot as an early teen when I stay the night at my friends house 😂 wow, you can see how far the bars been raised in regards to overall quality in picture etc..still a part of my childhood though 🇬🇧🇺🇲✌❤

All the stories are parodies. I liked the ventriloquist part in which it turns out it wasn't about the "talent" but literally about a small second man who played the "dummy." 😅 Dark

😅 this whole segment is comedy first of all I have never really seen John Lovett's play a serious role so that was funny and then I haven't seen Mr Bentley from The Jeffersons and the dad from The Addams Family in years so it's funny seeing them too I used to love watching Tales from the Crypt the Cryptkeeper was so funny

Used to watch this series when I was a teen. I loved the, Crypt Keeper, I thought he was wickedly funny. Some segments were pure comedy horror. Lol 🙂👍👍

The last episode at 1:07:40 "The New Arrival" was always one of my top favorite in the series. I remember watching it when it first aired when I was a kid

I was on tour with the " Royal Lipizzaner Stallions " as Dressage rider when this show was in it's heyday ! All of would go to their respective hotel rooms late after the evening show . I don't know if the others watched this but after a shower , I'd tuck myself into bed , find " tales from the crypt " and enjoyed the show ! Then off went the lights until the alarm clock rang at 5 am for the day to begin all over again ! Tales from the Crypt was a constant in my life when it was a new city every day - everything else was changeable . Those were the days ! 😊

I used to watch this show on tv 30 years ago and I'm loving it. Makes me wanna binge on it now... They had top actors and talented crew that's why this show still stands the test of time so well. I'm surprised I haven't seen The New Arrival episode before. It was great, funny dark humor.
