He was known for his music, grand theft auto, drug binges and stints in jail. At the height of Paycheck’s fame, he shot a man over a turtle soup recipe, which led to a high-profile trial, a prison sentence and one of his greatest hits, “Old Violin.”

All these guys that played and ran with the real country singer are getting up there. Most of them are gone. It’s so amazing that Mike Judge made this mini series while he is still able to talk to these guys.

The internet says Paycheck was 5'5", which means he was probably an inch or two shorter than that. In the early days, he used to come into Nashville in his manager's shirt pocket to save money on the bus fare.

Thank.. thanks a lot.. Your video made this "Old Violin" cry.. I miss that man and now I'm the age he was singing that tune.. So I will sing and play it, in the hopes and prayers that I will do it some justice. But never ever as good as the master and OG.
