I relate to this statement. My brother randomly played my game while I was at work today, and when I came home the first thing he had to tell me was that the opening animation and song was amazing.
I started playing Tales of Zestiria yesterday. Today I saw this sequence 2 or 3 times. You should've seen how I reacted. I can't describe it. First 3 seconds and I knew: I need this song like I need air. I have never heard such a great E-guitar before. And the animation. Oh my, when I saw the part with his armatization for the first time I freaked out. It's good that I was home alone at that time. Such an awesome song! One to play when you feel self-conscious and really need confidence. Perfect for me.
Yes he is freakn kawaii :3 The first time I saw him he instantly reminded me of L-Elf from Kakumeiki Valvrave (their personalities couldn't be more different though x_X). It seems white/light blue hair and purple eyes are a rare combination ;o
@@LadyIno Same Japanese VAs also. L-Elf was Sorey (Ryohei Kimura) and Haruto was Mikleo (Ryota Ohsaka). Boruto and Akaashi of Haikyuu also have the same VAs (Boruto/Sorey; Akaashi/Mikleo). ^_^
The moment I heard this, I started to love the game even more. Honestly, Tales of Zestiria had drawn so many harsh critics and I'm kinda disappointed. The game is really, really good on my opinion and the gaming mechanics really aren't as bad as people say. And, yes Mikleo is best girl.
@@MrZahsome It's my no. 1 game. And it will always be the best game for me because of the music, the mechanics, the characters, and the story. Just like watching a pop idol group perform, you may see some shortcomings here and there- but the connection that the performance bridges between the artists and the audience is what counts the most. Zesty "connects" in some way- because the characters are "cliche" on the outside but "deep" and "metaphorical" on another level- just like its story and theme. Hell, if gamers can play a game without any story and with yucky slime for characters and ear-splitting guitar sounds for background music, I'm sure Zesty has a lot more to it that's worth appreciating.
I thought they were going to roll credits with the intro the moment it showed up while I was playing. It got me so pumped out! This game is one of the best animes I've seen just for how it starts.

I love this game. Even if people think the world building is just bad expository dialogue and the characters are just sacks of bad puns and the world is empty and bland. I didn't really care for the combat, but the world was detailed and interesting and the characters were loveable and the sense of humor was just perfect for me. The music was absolitely incredible and the art was gorgeous and relaxing. I had a good time with this one.
the super clean picked "sweep" at 1:42 i find even more impressive. its not even THAT hard. only had to un-knot my fingers like 12 times before i could play it myself in half the bpm.
I remember the first time I stumbled upon this in the game, it was sooooooooo good. the music and the graphics blended in perfectly. It is still amazing now, no matter how many times i watch this.
I love how you get this opening when you're first playing this game. You get out of the beginning area then you get this opening. It was great and when I saw that I was like " yep this is going to be a great game ".
Honestly this soundtrack was the reason i wanted to play this game soo bad. And im absolutely fascinated with the game. Can't understand the complaining voices for this game. I have no technical difficulties at all, i LOVE the characters and the story as a whole with this seraphim/shepherd thingy
I can never understand why zestiria gets so much hate from fans. I thought it was a pretty decent Tales game, though not as good as Symphonia, Abyss or Vesperia. I also think Zestiria had the best soundtrack of the series
I personally didn't care for the combat system. The transformations were too much of an unnecessary power spike. But the story was fine, even if the main character was pretty bland.
It's the combat sadly. As Tales games go, I find it very enjoyable, but there is something lacking where the fights are concerned. It's to...mashy and automatic I guess.

+Eric Stewart Then you are playing the game in English. If you start the game with Japanese dub instead of English, it has lyrics in this song, the English dub does not.
I'm currently playing the game and I can say I haven't felt this hooked and addicted to a game since FFX, which is a pretty tremendous feat for bandai namco. Everything from the OST to the plot and gameplay feels so utterly awesome.
Beat intro to any Tales game ever, the original is okay, but omitting the vocals for the guitar actually added to the atmosphere of the song and really got the adrenaline going. Helps that the game is also awesome too. Playing Berseria before it since it is the earlier game chronologically actually helps you appreciate this underrated gem of a game that much more.
I mean, at least they replaced the lyrics with something instead of just using the same song with just no lyrics. Also, you cannot deny the awesome at 1:30, you just can't.
Childhood man, childhood. Listening to this brings back such blissful memories. When I started up this game, I always listened to the games opening because it was just amazing and beyond that. Thanks for the wonderful memories!
the expression of the leadguitar is in-fucking-sane. playing a guitar not just as an instrument but as if it would be alive is one skill most people wont reach but making it sing the main-vocals is stupendous beyond belief.
Me and my beautiful offspring like this so much that we named her newborn sister Lailah =) I truly adore this intro and it sure got me into the game, one that isnt flawless, but amazing nonetheless.

Tales of the Abyss is one of the greatest of the series, for quite obvious reasons. The music, the characters, specifically Luke and Asch. Tales of Zestiria instantly took that spot with the DRAGON!
While saving money for Arise I was reminded about how much this game changed my life I still love this opening, the memories it gave, and most of the characters haha I owe so much to this game, I realized how much fun art was, I rediscovered my love for fantasy, it made a difficult time in my life easy And while Zestiria isn't my favorite game, and I can't play it anymore because I'm reminded of how annoyingly obsessed with this game I was, Sorey and this game will always hold a special place in my heart
One of the very VERY few openings of a video game or show that I don’t skip. The number of openings for anything I don’t skip I can count less than 10 fingers. Funny enough most of the openings I don’t skip are from anime, so yet another thing that is Japanese.
I would totally watch an anime of this game. Seriously, the cutscenes are already anime-style, now we just need to get the game into anime style and I could enjoy it. I'd pay sixty bucks for it too
If you've played other Tales games, the problems are similar. Zestiria was in fact more innovative- but I guess the old timers didn't want that. The battle system borrowed so much from Graces... and Graces is good. ^_^
i like that they gave this the abyss and semi vesperia treatment. in vesperia they actually had a singer who sung it in both languages This is by far the greatest Tales opening theme song i have ever heard.
Love the game. 20/10. I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't have gotten this game for Christmas. I can't wait until I finish it, because then I'm gonna start watching the anime. If I started watching the anime now, I would get head and know everything that's gonna happen, so I won't for now.
Depends on which one it is. I never played this game, or anything else post Xillia 2, but I always skipped the openings of a lot of the early games (pretty much everything pre-Vesperia I think. Maybe not Abyss since that was just an instrumental of the original which was not as annoying) simply because I was annoyed that they replaced the original openings in translation.
I love the game and the opening. Amazing RPG and replaced Final Fantasy whitch I never took much intrwst in in the first place. But the combination of parts with the anime look and the regular RPG characters made it clash in an amazing and beautiful way. I truly recommend this RPG to anyone into thia kind of stuff. 10/10
Here I am 5 years later to tell you that Zesteria may have been empty, but without its amazing story, Berseria wouldn't have been anywhere near as good. Also, we need Zestiria 2.
This is one the games in the tales series that are not afraid of introducing the concept of significant characters dying and it's very unique in its own way. I do think the anime introduced a more happier ending, but the game still gives me that bitter sweet feeling of finishing a great game.
Not the best game, but was good all around. It looked amazing. I'm always impressed with how much further they go with Cell shading. Speaking of which, the new Zelda game also looks amazing.
When it comes to Tales of games, generally speaking, I prefer the original openings with the OG vocals and all... but with Zestiria and Zestiria alone, I'm like "nah, yeah they're BOTH quite good."
+malachijethro Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 had the original japanese versions and they are awesome, in Vesperia and Graces they at least gave then english lyrics instead, but taking then off entirely is sad.
+malachijethro It probably has to do with copyright issues, but they did the same thing for Tales of Hearts R. It's pretty obnoxious. This has been a problem since Tales of Destiny first released, though, so it's on Namco Bandai and the JASRAC to get it sorted out. Oh well, at least we're getting the bonus chapter for Alisha at no charge...I think?
+Tony Laskin sure, but those games rarely have any artists as big as the ones that BandaiNamco hires for their Tales openings. the bigger the artist, the more expensive it is to license the music. there is also the fact that some artists have contract stipulating that their voices can't be heard outside Japan, seriously.
i heard the game was pretty weak (which is a shame, because i really love tales games) but god does this opening kick ass. this has to be my favorite tales opening ever, and i haven't even played it. i thought nothing could top vesperia/abyss's opening, but this does imo.
Eh, it's fine if you like Tales games. IMO there are better ones (Vesperia, Symphonia) but there are certainly worse ones (Graces, Legendia, Hearts). The battle system's still fun.
Idk I heard the same thing about it, but I haven't played Tales so I don't have any comparisons to hold it up to. That being said, I found this game totally addicting. Love it.
I played a lot of Tales games, Abyss is my favourite and i have to say this game was very very fun. I really don't see why people are complaining. Yeah the story was subpar compared to others but the OST and gameplay made this game worth it
paulunga im someone who really enjoyed graces, actually. the story is cheesey, the characters are one dimensional, but i had so much fun with it. so i guess if i can enjoy graces, ill probably enjoy this.
