being from South Australia where it was filmed it felt so familiar and real, especially the kangaroo as they’re always hit on the road. The mum is very typical of an Aussie parent. i thought it was a fun roller coaster ride but i felt so invested in the characters, especially Riley that it had me feeling disturbed for a while. great execution for a first movie.

Since I’m in the states I wondered about that authenticity angle. I deduced that the kangaroo was a stand-in for the dead deer horror trope but obviously don’t know how it actually is in Australia. Really great to hear from you and thanks for watching! This movie rocked

granted i don't watch as much horror but I'm right on board with what you're saying about A24/Ari Aster-core. Curious to see what you would think about we're all going to the world's fair. i didn't think it was great but it's interesting as fuck and is a movie about modern children without that feel all these other movies have
